Attention Arrowhead Students: Do you want to help with Arrowhead Announcements?
We are interested in having our students participate in our morning announcements. We created a flipgrid topic link so students can record themselves making announcements. They can say the pledge allegiance, the Arrowhead School pledge or tell a joke. This is completely optional. If you allow your child to create a flipgrid video, this will provide the consent for the video to be shared during our morning announcements. Again, this is an optional activity and it will only be shared with your agreement. If you are interested in creating a flipgrid video, please click on the flipgrid link https://flipgrid.com/e75120f3
Student Material Pick Up Date: September 30, 2020
Hope you are doing well. We will have our next student supply/material pick up on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. PLEASE NOTE: Material pick up will take place in the front bus loop located by the main office. The scheduled times can be found below: If you have more than one child attending Arrowhead, we ask that you come during the youngest child's scheduled time. For example, a parent has two children at Arrowhead: one child is in Mrs. MacCorkle's (gr. 4) class and the other is in Mrs. Kennedy's (gr. 1) class. The parent will come to pick up supplies during Mrs. Kennedy's scheduled time. In addition, several teachers have shared that they would like to see their students during the scheduled pick ups, so feel free to bring your child or children if you can. Please know that not all teachers will be in attendance during pick up. Lastly, if you cannot make the scheduled times as listed below, please contact the Arrowhead School Office at 610-489-5000 extension 44200. Thank you for everything you are doing to support your child/children and our school during these challenging times. We truly appreciate it.

Happy Friday, Arrowhead Families! We made it!
With children in 5th and 7th grades, my head often spins with varying schedules, needs, and ways to keep my family connected. As I listen to and watch the news and contemplate our current world, I find myself reflecting on my own parenting and school counseling practices and ways to promote acceptance (not merely tolerance) and inclusiveness. One thing I believe we can ALL agree on is that we ALL want our children to be accepted, respected, and included.
In our elementary school setting, there have been times when students noticed differences about many things, including hair, food, skin color, and clothes. Sometimes students have expressed their observations in kind ways and sometimes they did so in a way that sounded/looked judgmental and offensive.
I encourage you to talk with your children about ways they are unique, and help them find ways to celebrate their differences. Together you can listen to the book below, “Big Hair, Don’t Care” by Crystal Swain-Bates. This book is a fun to listen to African-American children’s book aimed at children who may need a reminder from time to time that it’s okay to look different and to celebrate the things that make them who they are.Click on the PDF attachment below for a message from Mrs. Cohen.

Message from Nurse Kelly
Give Kids Sight Day is an annual event.
Pandemic? Well, yes, that’s a new challenge.
But where there’s a Wills, there’s a way.
With safety foremost in everyone’s minds, the Sight Day community is busy at work designing the best possible event to help as many children as we can.
Wills Eye Hospital is adapting their telehealth services for Sight Day to provide a “Telehealth-a-thon” for initial vision screenings. Instead of hundreds of families lined up around the block, PCCY will mail out eye charts to homes, and remote screeners will guide parents how to set up the chart at the appropriate distance and conduct vision screenings.
