Beta Club
DFHS Beta Club brought home 23 awards at the state convention this past weekend! The students qualified for the national convention held on June 22-26 in Orlando, Florida.
βAs the Beta Club advisor at Dutch Fork High School, I'm deeply gratified by our students' dedication and hard work, which led to placements in 23 categories and qualification for nationals. Their success is a testament not only to their competitive spirit and desire to be lifelong learners but also to the unwavering support of their parents and the power of teamwork. This achievement reflects their commitment to excellence and leadership, which will serve them well beyond high school.β

Super job Beta Club!!!
Mrs. Chason's Class
Students in Mrs. Chason's Drawing I class prepared 3 marbled papers for their upcoming contour line triptych project. Students enjoyed the sensory fun of using shaving cream and food coloring to make one of a kind designs in class.
Ms. Green's Class
Ms. Green's Entrepreneurship students put their business skills to the test with an exciting Food Truck Project! Each group designed a unique food truck concept, created eye-catching logos, planned menus, and developed marketing strategies.
FBLA
Dutch Fork High was represented at the FBLA Leadership Conference in Greenville, South Carolina by President Meagan Evans, FBLA Member Grace Ma, and CTE Teacher Ms. Tia Green. Meagan and Grace competed at this conference as well as participated in many workshops during the conference. Meagan was in the top 6 for Social Media Strategies and Grace placed 4th in Financial Math which qualifies her to compete at the National Conference in Anaheim, CA in June. We are extremely proud of our FBLA Silver Foxes!
Astronomy News
Wow...What an incredible time we had at the Astronomy Night Observation on Thursday, February 6th. Around 19 students and parents came out to observe a host of Celestial Objects in the night sky. We were quite worried at first as heavy clouds rolled in. But by 7:10 the skies cleared and the stargazing group was able to check off many items on their Astronomy "bucket list." Several students also brought their own telescopic equipment and led the group in observations. They were able to practice the skills of using different telescopes that they had learned earlier in the year. What did we see that night? Craters and mountains on the first quarter Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and all four of its Galilean moons, Orion's belt, the Orion Nebula, Betelgeuse (the Red Giant Star), Rigel (the Super Blue Giant Star) and the Andromeda Galaxy. Everyone had a GREAT time and it was an excellent night to see many of the objects we have talked about in the Astronomy Classes. Below are several pictures taken by the students. Keep looking up!
English 2 Honors
Dr. Gascon and Mr. Chambers' English 2 Honors STEM classes presented their research projects in the DFHS Library Commons on Thursday, February 13th. Students showcased their findings to their classmates, parents, and community members. During the presentations, participants shared meaningful feedback and asked questions about the project's findings.
Black History Month
DFHS has continued its month-long celebration of Black History Month by hosting outstanding guest speakers to talk with students about career success and striving for excellence. We've welcomed a nurse who runs a training school; a dentist in private practice; a former NFL player; and the Midlands' own Rick Henry from WIS-TV. A big Silver Fox thank you to our special guests!
