As we dive into Quarter 2, let's kick things off with a huge congratulations to our Girls Volleyball team for making it to the CIF Quarter Finals—a milestone that no girls volleyball team in our school's history has reached before! We’re incredibly proud of our Lions and all they’ve achieved this season.

Youth 4 Justice Summit – Get Ready to Be Inspired!

Hey students, gear up for an unforgettable experience at the Youth 4 Justice Summit! This event is your chance to learn, connect, and get inspired alongside peers from across the Antelope Valley. Brought to you by the City of Lancaster’s Department of Public Safety, the Antelope Valley Union High School District, Future Leaders California, and the 400 Years of African American History Commission, this summit is packed with hands-on experiences and unique learning opportunities. Spaces are limited, so don’t delay—pick up a permission slip from Ms. Carissa in the activities office and return it by November 8th. Act fast to secure your spot!

As always, tutoring is available for students seeking academic support. After School tutoring is available for all student Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:40pm - 4:30pm. Before school tutoring is available Monday-Friday from 7:40 am - 8:40 am.

Al comenzar el segundo trimestre, ¡iniciemos con una gran felicitación a nuestro equipo de voleibol femenino por llegar a los Cuartos de Final del CIF, un hito que ningún equipo de voleibol femenino en la historia de nuestra escuela había alcanzado antes! Estamos increíblemente orgullosos de nuestras Leonas y de todo lo que han logrado esta temporada.

Cumbre Juventud por la Justicia – ¡Prepárate para Inspirarte!

Estudiantes, prepárense para una experiencia inolvidable en la Cumbre Juventud por la Justicia. ¡Este evento es su oportunidad para aprender, conectar y motivarse junto a compañeros de todo el Valle del Antílope! Organizado por el Departamento de Seguridad Pública de la Ciudad de Lancaster, el Distrito Escolar de Preparatorias del Valle del Antílope, Future Leaders California y la Comisión de 400 Años de Historia Afroamericana, esta cumbre está llena de experiencias prácticas y oportunidades únicas de aprendizaje. Los espacios son limitados, así que no demoren: recojan un formulario de permiso con la Sra. Carissa en la oficina de actividades y devuélvanlo antes del 8 de noviembre. ¡Actúen rápido para asegurar su lugar!

Does your student need additional social emotional support at EHS? EHS offers many on campus student support groups to support our Lions through the many issues today's teens may be dealing with. If you would like to refer your student for a student support group, please scan the QR code and complete the google form.

Some examples of Student Support Groups offered at EHS are:

Mood Group, Anxiety, Life Skills, Anger Management, Grief/Loss, Conflict Resolution, and Substance Abuse.

You can also use the form to suggest a group your student may benefit from.

Scholarships and grants are helpful ways to fund your child’s college education. They provide you with free money that can go towards tuition or other educational expenses.This year we have partnered with Going Merry to make completing the FAFSA and finding scholarships easier than ever! Please have your student go to the School Counseling Office for assistance.

EHS parents/guardians have three options for viewing their student's grades, assignments, and attendance.

1. AV High School District App (Lion Link) - This app gives you new, information, as well as your student's progress. It is available on both the Apple App Store and Google App Store. When in the app store, search for AVUHSD and download the app.
2. PowerSchool App - This app ties right into your PowerSchool Parent Portal. You will get live updates on grades, assignments, and attendance. This app is also found on the Apple App Store and Google App Store. Search for PowerSchool and use district code: NWMZ.
3. PowerSchool Parent Portal: https://powerschool.avhsd.org/public

There are some helpful links below to get your PowerSchool Parent Portal account set up for the school year.

If you need to clear an absence, please email the EHS Attendance office at ehs-attendance@avhsd.org. Make sure to include your student's name, student ID number, date of absence, reason for the absence, your name, and relationship to the student. You may also call the attendance office at 661-946-3800 Extensions 1050 (A-L) and 1045 (M-Z).
