Playground Update
Good news! We are now able to maintain our current playground space until May 28th! That means our students will have only 8 days of a reduced playground space. Once I get more details about what space we will still have, I will work to make sure that our students still have recess options for the final 8 days of Fairview.
Fairview Artist Showcased
Shout out to Ella Deitrich for being Fairview's winner for Youth Art Month! Recently, Ella had her artwork displayed on a billboard! Great job Ella!
Parking Lot Safety
I wanted to ask for your help with making sure our students are safe. Myself and others have observed, at times, students will run across the parking lot at the end of the day to gain access to our playground. The end of the day is a very busy time with parents, buses and construction vehicles. Please remind your student to be safe, look both ways and wait for an adult to give the ok before running across the parking lot. Thanks for your help with this!
PSSAs
PSSAs are quickly approaching. We will be testing on the following dates (grades 3-5):
- April 23-25 - ELA
- April 30 - May 1 - Math
- May 2 - 3 - Science (4th only)
Prior to testing, I encourage students to get a good night's sleep, as well as eat a healthy breakfast. Don't forget, we do serve breakfast free of charge to all students here at Fairview. It is very important that students are on time each testing day. We are not permitted to allow students to enter testing sessions once the testing session has begun.
Should you have any questions about the PSSAs, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Open Houses - Cancelled
Due to the lack of parking available at Fairview, we will not be holding our traditional Open Houses this spring. However, please mark your calendars for May 17th, as that is our Farewell to Fairview event, held at Roof Park. Buses will be onsite to shuttle anyone that wants to come to Fairview and tour the building.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration is open for the 24-25 school year. If you have a child that needs registered for Kindergarten, please use this link to start the registration process.
Please share this information with any neighbor, family member or friend that has a child getting ready to enter Kindergarten next year.
Volunteers
Just a reminder that if you are planning on volunteering for any event this year (party, field trip, etc.), please double check with our office to make sure you have all your clearances and paperwork up to date. You can check our website for more information on what is needed to be a cleared volunteer.
Help Wanted
We are still looking for School Store volunteers 4/12 and 5/10.
Character Strong
This month our focus is: Courage.
Courage is choosing what is helpful, right, and kind - even when it is hard or scary. We will be focused on discussing courage here at Fairview, so we encourage families to discuss this topic at home this month as well!
