Incoming 6th Grade Parent Meeting

We will hold our incoming 6th grade Parent Meeting on Tuesday evening at 6pm in the Junior High Cafeteria. We will provide an overview of the Junior High including what is different from the Intermediate and ways to set your child up for success. We look forward to seeing you!

5th Grade Tours

Our rising 8th graders facilitated tours for our rising 6th graders this past week. Our mentors met and practiced giving tours before working with the 5th grade classes. Mentors were able to give advice and answer questions. We are excited to watch this program grow in the fall.

Counselor's Corner Updates

This month students wrapped up their final college and career lessons with Xello. Our current 6th and 7th graders were able to make course requests for next year as well as explore some of Michigan's 17 career clusters. Our current 8th graders were able to have a Q & A sessions with students from CJH's National Honor Society and gather many tips and tricks for success at the high school level and beyond.

As we think about moving forward into next year, I wanted to share that I have made the decision to take a leap of faith and pursue an opportunity in elementary school counseling. I would like to thank the Coloma community for trusting me as a first time school counselor and as a first-timer in a junior high school setting. I am so grateful to have had such a supportive community amongst the junior high staff, students and community of Coloma these last two years as your School Counselor. I will miss the connections I have made and wish for continued success for all of our current and future students. Thank you!

Field Day Workers

Honor Club Students had the opportunity to sign up to work at the CES and CIS field day. Students met with Mr. Veine on Friday and their stations were assigned. Students must have a signed permission slip returned in order to participate. Students that are working the event will walk over to CIS shortly after 8am. Students should bring a water bottle and sunscreen as it is a long day outside. Students will be provided with a school lunch. In the event of rain on either Wednesday or Thursday, events will be rescheduled to Friday.
