KRARI Ukulele Spectacular!
Who: All ukulele playing librarians, all levels welcome! Librarians will be joined by 5th graders from East Greenwich schools and students from Girls Rock!
Where: The KRARI kickoff event at the State House
When: Saturday, May 19th 2pm-3pm (The event is 2pm-4pm, and The Ukulele Spectacular will take place sometime between 2:10pm-2:45pm).
The deets: East Greenwich children’s librarian Jess George is helping coordinate this performance. We’re planning on having a practice session at the end of the May 7th Children’s Services Round Table meeting that is scheduled 1pm-3pm in East Greenwich. (Our RT discussion is collection development, and will wrap it up at 2:30ish for a uke practice). Stay tuned for the dates of 3 more practices that will happen at the East Greenwich library – we’re looking at two additional afternoon practices and one evening practice.
The music: The new lyrics are forthcoming, but in the meantime you can practice your strumming with this info from Jess:
Here is a link to the chords I am using:
http://ukulelehunt.com/2008/04/26/gugugthe-ramones-blitzkrieg-bop-chords/
They tune up a half step on the website, but there is no need to, so disregard that. You'll find the chords as a download on this page. Again, it'll say on the PDF to either tune up or use a capo, but disregard that.
