Families, will you please remind your children that we do not allow wireless headphones/airpods or microphones during the school day? If a student has those items, we will bring them to the front office and a parent or guardian will need to pick them up.

Secondly, we are working hard with our students to make sure all students are safe in our hallways. Please remind your child to keep their hands to themselves and that they should not pull on each others' backpacks. It is very important that our middle schoolers walk in hallways.

Fall Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 10, and October 24, from 3:30 to 6:30 PM.

We encourage you to bring your students with you for conferences.

Conferences are scheduled through your ParentVUE account. Please note that you need a ParentVUE account to schedule the meetings. Contact the front office or your child's dean if you need ParentVUE access. Thank you!

Picture retake images taken at Chippewa Middle School on Friday, September 27th, are now available for parents to view and order online. If you purchase any images, they will be mailed directly home. Student IDs will be sent to the school and distributed upon receipt.

You can view and order your student's picture on the Jostens website: https://shop.jostenspix.com/login.

You will need the following information to access your student's pictures:

• School Name: Chippewa Middle School
• Event Code: FE53124
• Student ID: 6-digit unique student ID (This can be located in ParentVUE and StudentVUE under Student Info)

We are celebrating National School Lunch Week from October 7-16! A few highlights from the week include:

• The Minnesota Great Apple Crunch will be held on October 7. A local Gala apple from Rabideaux Farms will be offered at lunch.

• Students can show off their photography skills by entering the School Lunch Photo Contest. Submissions are accepted October 7 - 16.

• Locally-made Sambusas will be a featured entree choice on October 16. Students will be able to choose from a beef or a lentil Sambusa. Click here to view the online lunch menu.

• Sambusas are a traditional Somali staple. Hoyo, the producer of these Sambusas, describes them as "delicious fried pastries certain to transport students and staff to a whole new world of taste" Each Sambusa is hand-made in Bloomington, MN.

Chippewa offers after-school academic support three days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Selected teachers will run academic support in the library after school until 3:35 pm.

The Mounds View Public Schools Curriculum Advisory Committee is seeking representatives to serve on the committee for the 2024-2025 school year. Committee members work in partnership with the district and community to gain knowledge and provide feedback about curriculum and other instructional issues. If you are interested in applying to be a part of the CAC, please complete the Mounds View Curriculum Advisory Application. The application will close on Friday, October 4th.
