Fresh Air Fridays registration now open!
Fresh Air Fridays (FAF) is all about fresh air and FUN! This program is offered across the KMTA region to local families with kids in kindergarten to fifth grade. FAF offers adventure, art, science, outdoor skill-building, and other activities with a goal to build community, foster pride of place, empower kids through skill-building, and support families with safe and supervised fun for their kids.
Registration for the 2024 - 2025 FAF season is open NOW (October ‘24 - April ‘25)!
On the Horizon
Here’s the KMTA educational programming to look forward to:
Fresh Air Fridays - Back by popular demand! This year, Fresh Air Fridays is being offered as a month-long day program series and will rotate around KMTA communities. The program is a combination of afterschool, half day, and full days sessions based on the KPBSD calendar. Registration open now!
SnowSchool - Winter in Alaska provides some of the best learning and recreation opportunities of the year and our program encourages meaningful connections and healthy behaviors that last a lifetime. Students strap on snowshoes and set out for a day of scientific exploration and outdoor adventure that emphasizes teachable moments and hands-on exploration of the snowpack and winterized watersheds. *Registration coming soon*

Thursday 10/24 & Friday 10/25 - Student Led Conference Days: watch for more information in the coming weeks

Reminder
Students should not be arriving to school any earlier than 8:45. Staff needs a few minutes to check email and phone messages before students arrive.
Pick-up time is 3:15. Students should not be leaving prior to that time unless it is an emergency or prior arrangements have been made. Thank you for your help!

Field Trips
If you are interested in joining your student on any field trips this year, you must complete volunteer paperwork here: https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/volunteer/. The process can take up to 2 weeks so please plan ahead.
Help Wanted!!
We are in need of a custodian again this year. The position is 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. There is also an opportunity to be a substitute custodian. In that position, you can work up to 5 days per week or as few as 1. Substitutes
Cooper Landing School is in need of substitutes for all positions: teacher, instructional aide, special education aide, secretary, and custodian. If you are interested, please go to the KPBSD website to apply: https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/substitute-information/ Teacher substitutes need only have a high school diploma or GED. A teaching certificate is not required.

Hope School Happenings
October is already here. It seems as though time has flown by. The students are doing well. They are settled in and working hard. We welcome our new staff member, Heather Hoydic. She is doing a wonderful job. Welcome Heather!
Hope School has various employment opportunities at the Hope School. Please consider being a substitute at our school. JOIN OUR TEAM! Teachers, secretary, and custodial substitutes positions are open. KPBSD Substitute Link
Hope School PTO is need of a secretary. If you would like to actively participate, this is a great opportunity to join the PTO and stay involved. Upcoming meetings will be announced soon.
Tiny Tots will be cancelled October 8th for the Immunization clinic at Hope School.
