How Surveys Help
Upcoming Surveys
Happy first week of October!!!! We made it through Homecoming Week a little tired, but it was a great week! From the parade to the assembly to the dance to the athletic events, we want to thank you and your students for great attendance and great community support!!! Congratulations to Band, Volleyball, and Yearbook for winning prizes in different categories at the parade!!! All in all, it was an awesome Homecoming Week! Now it's time to finish out first quarter strong and get ready for the fall and the events of October, November, and December.
Research tells us that student perceptions are directly linked to academic outcomes and student well-being. By using this student feedback data, leaders can identify specific areas for improvement, reveal inequities in the student experience, and build a culture of trust and respect between students and adults. Thus, we are working to get as much feedback on student perceptions as possible. There are two surveys being administered in Social Studies classes in October, and as always, parents have the ability to opt out of the surveys, but we do appreciate the feedback from your student. During online registration, there was an option to opt your student out of surveys, but paper copies are also available to turn in to our office.
Panorama Survey
The Panorama Survey assesses "School Climate and Culture" (the social and learning climate of the school environment, including rules and norms, behaviors, student engagement, and physical facilities); "Positive Relationships" (social connections and interpersonal relationships between students and teachers, like a sense of belonging and valuing of school); "School Safety" (physical and psychological climate and safety at school, including bullying, violence, and availability of support for students.)
District 51 uses this data to assess our work on students’ sense of belonging, one of the threads throughout the strategic plan and the platform identified to measure success. Individual schools use the data to plan for and improve the climate in their buildings.
The survey is completely anonymous and allows all students to have a voice and a personal assessment of the safety and relationships in the school. The data we collect allows us to monitor progress on individual measures over time and allows schools to compare themselves to each other, the district, and the nation through national norms. All schools in District 51 have a goal to increase relationships and belonging through efforts to improve climate and culture. Panorama is the data source for this measurement.

Youth Truth Survey
As we enter the 4th year of our partnership with CEI and our Youth Connections grant, funded by Caring for Colorado, the Youth Truth survey is an opportunity for us to get even more detailed feedback from our students. We took the survey as a school in 2021 and 2022, but took Healthy Kids Colorado last year instead. We would like to compare our responses from 2024 with our responses from 2022 to identify gaps and areas in which we can improve and serve our students and stakeholders better. This will be the last year of the Youth Truth Survey.
The Youth Truth Survey harnesses student and stakeholder perceptions to help educators accelerate improvements. Through validated survey instruments and tailored advisory services, Youth Truth partners with schools and districts to enhance learning for all students. The Youth Truth Survey asks questions from the following categories: Strength and Areas for Improvement, Engagement, Academic Challenge, Culture, Obstacles to Learning, Belonging & Peer Collaboration, Student-Teacher Relationships, Bullying, and Demographics.

Thank you for learning more about the why behind surveys and what they are seeking to learn. We want to provide the best possible supports we can, and student feedback helps us plan programming and meet more needs of our students.
Thank you for sharing the gift of your students with us every day, and I hope you have a fantastic week!!!!
Warm regards,
Tracy Arledge

WARRIOR WELLNESS CLINIC/ATTENDANCE
WARRIOR WELLNESS CLINIC: Reminder that upper respiratory infection season is rapidly approaching, so we would like to remind all families that the Warrior Wellness Clinic is here for you! We are a fully functioning acute care clinic located inside CHS. With parent permission, we can see students for strep tests, COVID-19 tests, sinus infections, coughs, and lots more! Students can walk in or make an appointment to be seen, usually on the same day. Not only can we do the testing for multiple illnesses here, we can prescribe treatments, notify parents if a student needs to go home, or send the student back to class as appropriate. We can also administer vaccines with parent permission. We need parent/guardian permission to see any student under the age of 18, and these short forms are available in our office or online at www.chswarriorwellness.org. We look forward to helping keep our students healthy this school year, and please feel free to contact us with any questions!
ATHLETICS
ATHLETICS: All students need to bring their student ID to get into the football games or any athletic events. Your SBA sticker will get you in free to any athletic events. All adults can purchase a punch pass for $100 that is good for 20 events. You can buy those at the gate.

ADMINISTRATION
ADMINISTRATION: Please remember to follow the Cell Phone/Air Pod/Smart Watch Policy during class time. None of these devices are allowed during any instructional time which includes advisory and assemblies. Each classroom will have a secure place to store your electronics, or you may store them in your backpacks, but if they are visible at any time during class, your teacher will have to collect them. Please bring your charged Chromebooks to class for instructional purposes because your phones will not be able to be used to do classwork during instructional time.
Remember that your Student ID Badges need to be visible at all times. Please wear them on your lanyards or on a pocket clip. Badges are also required to get into athletic events and dances.
Please make sure to check your Parent Vue often. Parents will be able to see student attendance and updated grades. Parents can also reach out to teachers through Parent Vue by email. If you are having any issues signing into Parent Vue, please call Kellie or Andrea in the attendance office.
