Jay High School Weekly Message: Celebrating Our Achievements!
Jay Community,
This week, we have so much to celebrate, and I couldn’t be more proud of our students and staff for their hard work and dedication. Let's kick things off by congratulating our Jay High School Team Tennis for making the playoffs for the first time in school history! What an incredible achievement! Here are the final standings for the 28-5A regular season:
28-5A Team Tennis Final Standings: 1st - Southwest Legacy High School
2nd - Southwest High School
3rd - MacArthur High School
4th - Jay High School
Jay will play in the bi-district round of the playoffs on Monday, October 7th at 11:00 a.m. at McFarlin Tennis Center against Highlands High School. Best of luck to our tennis team as they continue making history!
Water Polo Playoffs:
A huge shout-out to our Boys Water Polo Team, who also made the playoffs! We are second in the district and had a thrilling victory over the previously undefeated Stevens High School, winning in overtime! Their first playoff game is on Tuesday, October 3rd at 5:00 p.m. at Southwest Aquatic Center against Harlan. Go get 'em, team!
Volleyball Update:
Our volleyball team is working hard to secure their first playoff spot since 1995. We’re rooting for you all as you continue the season strong!
Football Update:
Our football team is now 5-0 as we head into Homecoming Week! We also want to express our gratitude to our spirit organizations—cheer, dance, and pep squad—along with the Mighty Mustang Band and ROTC for their unwavering support and incredible energy at every football game. We couldn’t do it without you!
Student Council and Spanish Honor Society:
We are also thrilled to announce that our Student Council participated in the annual AASC District 15 Fall General Convention. We are excited to see the fresh ideas and new knowledge they will bring to our school community!
A big shout-out to our Spanish Honor Society, who continue to spread Jay spirit, joy, and culture throughout the district. Thank you for your commitment to sharing the heart of our school with others.
Upcoming Events:
- Tonight, we will have our first choir concert of the year in the auditorium, starting at 6:30 p.m. We can’t wait to hear the beautiful music our choir has been preparing.
- A big shout-out to our Electric Stringz, who performed at the 25th Anniversary celebration of Mary Michael Elementary! They received a standing ovation, and School Board Member Mrs. Saldana sends her congratulations on a wonderful performance.
There are so many reMARBACHable things happening on our campus and in our community. We encourage all students and families to stay engaged, join in the celebrations, and continue to support one another. It’s exciting when we come together to honor these incredible achievements!
