OneCommunity
OneCommunity is a non-profit organization formed with the purpose of bringing communities together, as One. Together, they are engaging, empowering, and strengthening families through bilingual literacy and leadership programs.
OneCommunity, a 501(c)(3) community-based non-profit organization was founded in 2009 to address the needs of the growing immigrant community. Their mission is to promote communities working together as One and to enhance the quality of life of all people through the use of best practices and outreach services that improve health, education, and leadership skills. OneCommunity work advances equity and inclusion for underrepresented people in Northwest Arkansas by engaging, empowering, and strengthening Latinx immigrant families and youth through educational programming with the goal of creating OneCommunity living, working, and prospering together.
OneCommunity is currently piloting four programs to expand our work through a Biliteracy and Leadership grant from United Way NWA at Westwood Elementary on Tuesdays and Knapp Elementary on Wednesdays during the 2022-2023 school year. We meet in the evening from 5-7 PM.
