SJF Jr. NEWS
JUNE 2025
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Dear SJFJr Community,
Can you believe it’s already June? As we wrap up another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on how truly blessed we are to be part of such a vibrant, caring, and supportive school community. Your presence, your engagement, and your unwavering support have made all the difference—not just for our students, but for our entire team.
This school year has truly flown by, likely because it was filled with so many fun activities, celebrations, and joyful moments together. As we approach the end of the year, we’re beginning to prepare to wave goodbye and wish everyone a wonderful summer break. For our Grade 2 students, this time is especially meaningful. We feel a mix of pride and sadness as we prepare to see them move on. We know they are ready for the new adventures that await them, but we will miss having them in our building. The bond we've built with them is strong, and while we would love to keep them with us a little longer, we are comforted knowing they will be in good hands. Most importantly, we know that the connections we’ve created won’t fade. We look forward to seeing their familiar faces during special events and shared activities between buildings.
We know that summer will bring many of you together—whether it’s at the park, the pool, the library, strolling through the streets of Pointe-Claire, or enjoying a playdate with friends. These moments of connection are what make our community so special.
As August approaches, please know that we will be here, ready to welcome our students back with open arms, full hearts, and a renewed excitement for the year ahead.
Wishing you all a summer filled with laughter, joy, sunshine, and unforgettable memories.
With heartfelt thanks,
Mme Durand
TO THE K4 PARENTS
Dear K4 parents,
As we enter the end of the school year, we are reflecting on how we can prepare our students for the transition to K5. With this in mind, starting June 3rd, the K4 students will line up in the big schoolyard with the rest of the school in the morning. Likewise, they will also be dismissed by the schoolyard gate at the end of the day.
Therefore, as of 9:05 a.m., students may enter the main schoolyard from the side gate. The second bell will ring at 9:15 a.m., signaling the classes to line up and begin entering the building. At pick-up, please stand by the gate to wait for your child. If your child takes the bus or daycare, staff members will direct them to the proper areas as usual.
Thank you for your continued support,
K4 Team

S.E.E.D PROGRAM AND LUNCH NEWS
June 2nd:
We will be headed by bus to the Ostrich farm to create and build lasting memories. We will be away from 9am to 2pm. Registrations are closed.
June 12th:
We’re excited to have an ice cream truck at the end of lunch, thanks to Mme. Durand and the S.E.E.D program! There will be hard serve, soft serve, and two tasty slushy flavors to choose from. If you don’t want your child to receive the treat or have any dietary restrictions, please let us know.
Account Reminder:
Final statements have been sent out, and payments are now due. If you have an outstanding balance, please know that it could affect your child’s spot in the S.E.E.D program next year. To attend Ped Days, S.E.E.D accounts need to be up to date.
Since the lunch and S.E.E.D programs are self-funded, it’s important that fees are paid on time. Parents are legally responsible for covering lunch costs. Unpaid accounts will result in a loss of services and the accounts being sent to collections.
Registration Info:
- K4 and K5: Registration forms were emailed and need to be returned by June 15th.
- Grades 1 and 2: Registration is open via Mozaik. It will close June 20th. Please have your reservations sent in as soon as possible for staffing purposes.
About Ped Days:
Ped Day trips are a great way for kids to build friendships, learn new things, and have fun outside of school. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this year’s Ped Days! Even families who don’t regularly use S.E.E.D can join in, as long as we have enough supervisors to keep things safe and fun. The option not to attend a field trip and remain at school is also available.
Enjoy the rest of June! Have an awesome summer break, and we can’t wait to see everyone back for the new school year!
