NOHL CANYON ROADRUNNER NEWS
NOVEMBER 26TH-DECEMBER 2ND: WEEKLY PUBLICATION
Message from Principal Strickland
I hope you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Our last week of school prior to break held some exciting happenings. Nohl Canyon was recognized by our District Office for having the highest attendance percentage for the month of October. All Roadrunners will receive a schoolwide BBQ on Monday, December 11th in celebration. Fantastic job Roadrunners!
Many of our 6th Grade students made the trip to Outdoor Ed Camp in the mountains of Running Springs. I had the opportunity to visit our students on Wednesday. I joined our students for breakfast and went on an ecology hike. It was great to see our students off on adventure. They were having a great time talking of night hikes, Gaga Ball challenges, and Smores. The trip will be a lasting memory.
Coming this week is our RAD Award Assemblies where teachers recognize four students from their classes. Teachers will be reaching out to families of student award winners so you are able to attend these grade level presentations on Wednesday, November 29th.
If you have not already had a chance, please complete the LCAP Parent Survey. Your feedback is valuable at helping to guide our strategic planning.
A great week ahead to all Roadrunners!

Student of the Month Recognition - November Focus - R.A.D. + O
This month's focus for our Student of the Month will include our guiding concept for our school: RAD Roadrunners. Each Core Belief has a corresponding Expectation that guides students both inside and outside of the classroom environment. As part of this concept we believe embodying these qualities and setting and working toward small goals on a daily basis will help our students Win the Day (school motto)! This month, each teacher will recognize four students that embody these qualities. Winning student families will be invited by their child's teacher to an awards ceremony on November 29th.
Core Belief (Expectation)
Respectful (Kindness)
Accountable (Ownership)
Dedicated (Resilient)
O = Outstanding Roadrunner (All qualities)
LCAP Survey for Parents and Students

Parking Lot Procedures
Thank you for making our parking lot procedures during drop-off and pick-up a safe and efficient machine. We serve a large number of vehicles in short period of time.
Thank you for your continued help with a few critical items:
- Please remember our Lower lot is Staff Only Parking. The lower entrance on Nohl Canyon RD is ENTRANCE ONLY in the Afternoon for Middle Lane traffic going to park in the FAR lot. Two-way use of this entrance presents a significant hazard to entering cars and pedestrian traffic.
- Please be kind to our parking lot volunteers. They make the whole thing work.
- Please ask your kiddos to walk when in front of school. Running children in the pick up area presents several hazards. Safety is our first priority.
- Trinity School Parking Lot is CLOSED for drop-off and pick-up parking.
- Parents, with respect to Trinity Pre-School and their families, we are not allowing Nohl Canyon families to park in the Trinity parking lot. Please follow this guideline and support us in keeping a positive community relationship with Trinity School. Trinity will often allow us to use their lot for special events but should not be used for drop-off or pick-up.
- Please remain clear of the Trinity lawn areas. Trinity lawns should not be used for student waiting for drop-off or pick-up. Students should always be picked up from our school site. If students are still here after 2:40pm, we bring them behind our school gates into our QUAD area for safety until parent pick-up. Please do not have your students wait at the Trinity site for pick-up.
- Please be sure to use crosswalks when crossing all major roads. Students being dropped off on Nohl Canyon Rd. and then proceeding across the street, presents a significant hazard to those students.
- Keep in mind, the Nohl Canyon Rd. entrance to our parking area is only to be used during afternoon pick-up and is limited to Middle Lane traffic that is pulling all the way through the lot to park in the back school lot.
