East Middle Cross-Country Ski!
As winter rolls in and the snow blankets the landscape, it presents an ideal opportunity to introduce students to the joys and benefits of cross-country skiing (XC skiing). This versatile and accessible sport has become a staple at West Seneca East Middle School, offering students a unique way to stay active, healthy, and connected to nature.
Our students at East Middle have worked hard to master their skiing skills. The students were given multiple opportunities to ski during their PE classes and during study halls. They worked on being able to transverse flat and hilly terrain and how to descend a hill.
Cross-country skiing offers a unique and enriching experience for middle school students in PE classes. It combines fitness, mental engagement, teamwork, and an appreciation for nature—all while teaching valuable life skills.
