Week of: November 22nd
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Springtown High School Families,
As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the hard work, dedication, and support that has made this semester such a success so far. This is a time to reflect on the blessings in our lives, and I am truly thankful for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful group of students and families.
I hope each of you enjoys a restful and joyful Thanksgiving, filled with good food, good company, and moments of peace. Whether you're spending the holiday with family or friends, I wish you all a time to relax, recharge, and reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for.
As we return in December, we will be diving into our preparations for End of Exam retakes and semester exams. I have full confidence that, with the energy and focus gained from this break, we will tackle these challenges with great success. We are almost at the finish line, and together, we'll finish the semester strong!
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving break and looking forward to seeing everyone back refreshed and ready for the final stretch.
Sincerely,
Mr. H
Principal

Helping Your Teen Develop an Attitude of Gratitude: Part 4
We’re continuing our month-long series of strategies to help your teen adopt an “attitude of gratitude”. Give the following a try and see how it goes!
Talk about money and how much things cost. Providing opportunities to learn about the value of money is essential in building an attitude of gratitude. Explain to your teens how much various things cost (e.g. groceries, electronic devices, restaurant meals, cars, etc) and how to be intentional in living within your means. Asking “do I need it?” is more important than asking “can I afford it?”
Create gratitude rituals. Put more opportunities in place to practice gratitude. Once or twice a week before a family meal, go around the table and ask every family member to share one thing they’re thankful for.
Help you teens to develop a growth mindset. A growth mindset is one focused on the process of learning from your successes and failures. It’s instrumental in developing the right kind of motivation…as your teens begin to see every challenge as an opportunity, they’ll become more thankful for the obstacles in their path.
If you have any questions regarding your schedule, we ask you to reach out to your counselor.
