September is National Suicide Prevention Month
September is Suicide Prevention Month — a time to raise awareness of this very prevalent topic. Suicide Prevention Month asks us to assist in shifting public perception, spread hope and share vital information to people affected by suicide. The goal of Suicide Prevention Month is also ensuring that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.
Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In most situations, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health condition. Suicidal thoughts should not be considered normal and often indicate more serious issues.
Let's Go Raiders!

Raiders beat the Falcons 22-8!
Football Highlights
The Raiders battled the Sullivan Falcons on the Raiders Ship last night and defeated the Falcons 22-8 to improve to 2-0 on the season and are sitting a top in the conference.
Offensive Highlights
Kinatre Neely played a great game at quarterback leading the Raiders offense all night. Kiantre scored a touchdown and Dash Holley scored a touchdown as well. Kiantre had several scampering runs eluding defenders. Dash had numerous big runs punishijng and carrying defenders down the field. With .5 seconds till halftime the Raiders dialed up a deep pass play and Kiantre hit Peyton Werts on a 45 yard touchdown pass. Dash scored a 2 point conversion on the night as well. Kaden Laney also contributed with several catches as well as a two point conversion pass. Zilan Whitlock had several key runs last night. Landon Williams contributed by making several catches on the night. The offensive line did a great job as well. Kaydin Peoples, Mason Cogar, Jayden Joseph, Jakobe Russell, and Liam Starnes anchored the offensive line all night. Jayden Joseph once again had an outstanding night at center without having a single bad snap.
Defensive Highlights
The Raiders defense was once again stingy all night long. The defense was lights out and made the Falcons offense struggle throughout the night. Dash Holley had 8 tackles and 3 solo tackles for loss including several big hits on the Falcons. Kaden Langley had 3 solo tackles for loss including an awesome interception late in the 3rd quarter. Kentavius Smith contributed with 4 tackles, DJ Jackson had 5 tackles, Kaydin Peoples had 3 tackles, Kiantre Neely had 3 tackles, and Karter Kennon had 2 tackles.
The Raiders were able to play a lot of 7th graders and 8th graders throughout the night. It was a total team effort defending our Ship all night.
The Raiders player and Coaches want to also give a shout out to the awesome Raider Cheerleaders for their effort and support cheering on the Raiders.
The Raiders travel next week to Castle Heights. Make plans to come out and support these young men. GO RAIDERS!!!

District Announcements
Dear Rock Hill Schools Family,
We have been made aware of claims regarding threats to schools in several surrounding districts and states. Today, we received reports that some of these posts possibly referenced schools in our district and, after collaborating with our law enforcement partners, found that not to be true.
We take safety reports extremely seriously and we investigate every tip, every time. We are thankful for the continued support of Rock Hill Police and York County Sheriff's Office in this effort.
We’d like to remind you to speak with your child about our “See Something, Say Something” initiative. If your child sees something or hears something suspicious, alarming, or concerning, please encourage them to notify an adult as soon as possible. Every student has access to our anonymous tip line at https://www.rock-hill.k12.sc.us/Page/6778
We also ask for you to speak with your student about spreading rumors, misinformation, or unverified posts online. It’s better to alert an adult and report something to authorities instead of sharing it further on social media.
Thank you all for your continued efforts in helping us to keep our children safe this school year.
