Attendance
Appointments & Passes
Parents/Guardians should try to avoid taking students out of school for appointments if possible.
If you need to pick up your child during the school day, you will need to call the school ahead of time or he/she may bring a note to the front office before school starts. Your child will be sent a pass allowing them five additional minutes to go to their locker and then come to the front office at the time specified. Parents will remain in their cars when picking up and dropping off students. Students will be released once they see their ride in front of the school. When dropping them back off, students will check back in through the front office and will be given a pass back to class. Please provide a doctor’s note as available.
Building Hours & Supervision
School hours are 8:00am-3:10pm. However, on Wednesdays, LVMS will start at 8:20am. The late start will have no impact on parents’ schedules. Students can still enter the building at their normal time, however students will remain in their designated team location. If your family chooses to take advantage of the late start on Wednesdays, students will not be considered absent/tardy until 8:20am.
We encourage students to arrive no earlier than 7:30am, as that is the time student supervision begins at LVMS. Students not involved in after school activities need to be off school grounds by 3:30pm, as there is no supervision after that time.
Every morning, including Wednesdays, when students arrive on school grounds, they will be expected to stay until the end of the day (unless called out by you for appointments, etc.). If your student will be participating in Campus Life at the church, please plan to drop them off in the church parking lot. Once students come on school grounds, they will be expected to stay and not go to the church. This also includes students who make a quick trip to McDonald's or another restaurant nearby. If your child has your permission to run for food before school starts, please drop them off at a location not on school grounds.
Health Measures
- Outside food deliveries from food establishments will not be accepted for students. Students can choose hot school lunch or cold lunch from home each day. If your student forgets their lunch at home, you are welcomed to drop it off at school and we will make sure it is received. Any time you drop off food at school, it may only be given to your student. Sharing of food is not permitted.
- When guests come to the main doors, you will be greeted and asked about the nature of your visit. If you have something to drop off, we may ask you to leave it in a bin located outside and we will come retrieve it. Depending on other needs, we will work with you on the best way to meet your needs.
- All drinking fountains and water bottle filler stations are turned on. Students are highly encouraged to bring water bottles each day and they can be refilled throughout the day.
