Enrichment at Twickenham School
Experience & Opportunity - Written by Mr Hayes Associate Assistant Headteacher & Head of PE
Twickenham School is dedicated to providing a diverse array of enrichment opportunities aimed at expanding the horizons of our students while instilling and promoting our core values of Aspire, Achieve, and Enjoy. Our comprehensive range of activities is designed to foster a holistic educational experience, both inside and outside the classroom.
Students at Twickenham School have the privilege of participating in a variety of clubs available before, during, and after school hours. Among our current offerings are sports clubs encompassing activities such as Football, Basketball, Badminton, Dance, and Rock Climbing, providing avenues for physical fitness and team collaboration. Students are also afforded the opportunity to represent the school in various sports fixtures.
In addition to sports-related activities, we offer a diverse selection of non-practical clubs that cater to a broad spectrum of interests. These include culinary exploration through our cooking club, nurturing green thumbs in the gardening club, promoting sustainability awareness through the Sustainability Ambassadors, engaging in strategic and social interactions in the Board Game Club, and fostering cultural exchange in the Language Cafe.
A standout feature of our enrichment program is the annual school production, a major highlight in our calendar. This year's production, "Annie," saw the active participation of students from Year 7 to 11 in various capacities, from acting to stage design and lighting. We encourage all students to embrace the multitude of opportunities available through these clubs.
Furthermore, our commitment to experiential learning extends beyond the school premises. Educational trips are an integral part of our curriculum, taking students out of the traditional classroom setting. Recent excursions have included visits to esteemed institutions such as the Science Museum, Geography Field Trips, the Bu-sen Martial Arts Centre, the Tate Modern, and the Holocaust Survivors exhibition.
We invite and encourage parents to observe their child benefiting from this rich tapestry of experiences by following us on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, where we post regular updates of our enrichment activities. We are proud to offer a platform where students can not only learn academically but also develop personally and socially through a wide range of engaging activities. We look forward to witnessing your child's active participation in our enriching educational journey.
