Friendly Friday Update
The weekly newsletter for the FHMS Community - 2/9/24
Mr. Hiti's Message
Our lost and found is continuing to grow at a record pace. Please have your student check it out if they are missing any clothing items. It is currently filled with jackets and other winter weather gear. If you haven’t seen that particular coat for a while, I might know where it is!
Newspaper articles are always great ways to check students for comprehension. They are usually relatively short in length, and give students an opportunity to expand on their vocabulary as well as explain the main ideas. Plus, it is a great way to have a conversation with your middle school student. Try it out!
Have a good week!

Read-A-Thon
The Friendly Hills Read-A-Thon is off to a great start! Thank you to families who have donated money and shared links to other friends and family. Students and staff will benefit from having new books in classroom libraries and our FHMS library thanks to your generosity! We have raised over $750 so far!!
Because our Read-A-Thon is a competition amongst students to see who can read the most minutes over the course of the month of February, we have students racking up the reading minutes. This is fabulous, and we are excited to see all of the reading happening at school and hopefully at home. Please help your child(ren) log their daily reading minutes honestly so that we can have a fair competition.
Math Supply Request
6th grade students are calculating the percent change in size between original items and their Mini Brands figurine counterparts. If families have any Mini Brands to donate, please contact Jodie Darwitz.
