CMAS Reminders & incentive information
Who has the best students? High Plains! We are so proud of our students. They are hard workers, persistent, and curious learners. They have been rocking CMAS! Testing for 3rd-5th and 7th-8th Bison will continue this week. Please see this link for the schedule. Please do not schedule appointments during this time.
Our goal is to reach 95% or higher participation. To encourage and support our students’ efforts and participation, we are offering incentives for individuals and classes! Individually, students have the chance to earn tickets towards gift cards (variety of places), food and drink items, recess equipment, small fidgets and toys, and student - staff experiences. The top 3 classes with 95% participation will earn time for extra recess, a popcorn party, pajama day, a movie party, with a grand prize of our Imagination Playground!
Thank you for helping our students reach this goal, show their perseverance, grit, and the learning they’ve worked so hard for all year. We are Bison Strong!
Spirit Week for Everyone!
Anxious Generation:
Chapter 9: Preparing for Collective Action
Several guardians and staff members are participating in the book study, Anxious Generation. Each week we’ll share insights from the book and the group’s conversations.
Quote: "The solution to the crisis of anxiety and mental illness in youth will not come from isolated efforts but from a collective, societal shift that prioritizes emotional health, resilience, and shared responsibility." — The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt
Food for Thought: Haidt emphasizes that the challenges faced by today’s youth—anxiety, depression, and social isolation—are not issues that can be solved by individuals alone. They require a collective effort from families, communities, educators, and policymakers to create an environment that supports mental health, emotional resilience, and connection. Think about the ways we can foster collective action in addressing youth mental health. How can we work together as a community to create systemic changes that promote healthier emotional development for children and adolescents? What role can each of us play in supporting a shift towards collective responsibility for the well-being of future generations?
