A Message from Mrs. Williams
As we approach the season of Thanksgiving, it’s a perfect time to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together so far this year and to look forward to the continued growth ahead. This time of year often brings about a chance for gratitude, and I want to take a moment to express my thanks to you—our students, families, and staff—for your unwavering support and commitment.
We are all on a journey of growth, whether in the classroom, on the field, or in our personal lives. At our GLHS, we believe that every challenge presents an opportunity for learning and development. It’s not always about getting everything right the first time, but rather about learning from each experience and pushing forward with a positive mindset.
As we head into the final stretch of the semester, let’s continue to support one another, celebrate each success, big or small, and keep fostering an environment where every student feels valued, encouraged, and capable of achieving their best.
Let’s keep moving forward together, and remember that growth happens in many forms, and we’re all in this journey together!
Go Lions!
Honoring Our Veterans
On November 11, we were honored to welcome local veterans into our school for a meaningful and inspiring Veterans Day celebration. Our students had the unique opportunity to hear firsthand accounts from these brave individuals, learning about their experiences and the sacrifices made for our country. The veterans shared stories of service, courage, and camaraderie, helping students gain a deeper understanding of the importance of this day. It was a powerful reminder of the values of patriotism, resilience, and gratitude. We are thankful to our veterans for taking the time to visit and for their service.
Thank you to social studies teacher Samantha Davis for organizing this amazing opportunity for our students!
Inside the Classroom
Exploring the Industrial Revolution
In both Honors and Modern World History, students have been diving deep into the transformative impact of the Industrial Revolution through engaging and interactive lessons. In Honors Modern World History, taught by Sarah Matejic, students used "Aura Points" as they analyzed key themes such as technological innovation, economic shifts, and social impacts, fostering critical thinking and lively discussions.
Meanwhile, in Modern World History, taught by Jessica Saluke, students brought history to life by creating creative "Instagram" posts that highlighted key events, inventions, and figures from the era. Their posts, combining historical facts with imaginative visuals, connected the past to the present in a fun and innovative way. Be sure to check out the accompanying photos showcasing their impressive work and thoughtful insights!
A big thank you to both Sarah and Jessica for sharing these inspiring inquiry lessons with us!
GLHS Alumni Hall of Fame
Celebrating Rod Johnson
This week, we proudly highlight Rod Johnson as an inductee into the Gahanna Lincoln High School Alumni Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors graduates who have brought credit and distinction to themselves and to GLHS through their exceptional achievements. Rod Johnson’s contributions exemplify this mission, and we are thrilled to celebrate his success and dedication. Congratulations to Rod on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for continuing to inspire future generations of Lions!
