Dear Families,

We hope this newsletter finds you well! As we embark on another exciting week, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and partnership. Together, we are creating a nurturing environment for our students to thrive.

Celebrations from the last few Weeks

We are thrilled to share some wonderful highlights from our classrooms:

Learning Buddies: Last week, our students partnered with Mrs. Lawlor’s Kindergarten class to foster friendships and collaborative learning.
Language Arts: Students are adapting well to the routines of our reading lab and Daily 5. They are learning how to pick a good fit book and exploring text features of informational texts. Reading conferences have also begun, allowing for personalized growth.
Math: Our young mathematicians are diligently working on finding volume, developing their problem-solving skills.
Science: In science, students have embarked on a fascinating study of life systems, sparking curiosity and inquiry.
Social Studies: Students have started learning about the geography of the United States. This includes landforms, lattitude/longitude, continents, oceans, political/physical maps, and how geography impacts cultures.
Georgie and Frankie made their first visit to class.
Team Building: The students have particiapted in a leadership workshop, learned our student honor code and creed, and learned the importance of working together.

These achievements truly reflect the hard work and dedication of our students and educators alike!

Additional Information

As we navigate through this school year, we encourage families to continue engaging with the classroom activities and supporting your child’s learning journey at home. Regular communication between home and school is vital to our students' success.

9/24 (Tuesday): Picture Day! Please ensure your child is dressed and ready for their photo.
10/4 (Friday): Carnival Fundraising! We look forward to seeing you there and appreciate your support in making this event a success.
10/25 (Friday): Family STEAM Night! Join us for an evening of fun, learning, and exploration in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

STEAM Night

Cherry Crest’s Family STEAM Night is Friday, October 25th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

There are going to be so many fun and interactive activities such as Sphero Cars, Beebots, an Egg Drop Challenge, and Spider Web Bridges. We sure hope you can make it!

PTSA and Cherry Crest are asking for help collecting supplies for this exciting event.
