Mr. Kirschenbaum, ELA
Last week, students selected their book club books and have set their reading calendar. This is a great discussion topic with your student. This week, we will return to Tuck Everlasting to compare it to its movie version. Students will then practice their analytical skills to write an essay.
Mx. Gomez, Math
Math 6: Students diligently got to work practicing multiplying and dividing decimals this week. Students will have an RCT at the end of next week on Multiplying, Dividing, Adding and Subtracting Decimals. We began this week focusing on dividing decimals and students will have homework next week focusing on dividing decimals.
Math 7: Students diligently got to work to begin working on their reviews yesterday. Students will have an RCT at the beginning of next week and have a review to help them study over the weekend which we began in class. The reviews need to come back as they will count for an engagement grade.

This week we refocused ourselves and completed our Planetary PowerPoints – nice job, everyone!
Next week is our Quarter 2 Roots Summative. Blooket links have been posted to help students study, and an extra virtual copy of the study guide is available on Canvas under Modules -> Roots Q2.
Additionally, our Middle of Year (MOY) MAP testing will happen at the end of next week. This test is not graded, but please make sure your student eats breakfast and gets a good night’s sleep!

Library Corner
Happy New Year! Let's make 2025 a great year for reading and inquiry! Check out these great resources that the library is offering in January. Check out this month's Library Newsletter below:

Library overdue emails were sent out in December and I have heard from several families about books overdue that are owed to different schools. Please disregard titles owed to other sites. At the end of the year, I will send another notice email. Notices will only include Deal items moving forward. Sorry about any confusion!
