π Details from Dr. Johnson
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you. This time of year offers us a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the many blessings we share, and I am truly thankful for the incredible community we have here at Wood Elementary.
I am grateful for the hard work and dedication of our students, the support and involvement of our families, and the commitment of our staff to create a nurturing and inspiring environment for all. Together, we are building not only a place of learning but a place where kindness, respect, and teamwork flourish.
I hope this holiday season brings you joy, peace, and time to reflect on the many things we are thankful for. Wishing you and your family a warm and happy Thanksgiving!

β PowerSchool Registration - Important!
We have 20 students who have not been registered on PowerSchool. Most of our families have started the 2024-2025 Annual Registration, but just have not completed all of the tabs. If you continue to receive reminder emails, this means that you have not fully completed the annual registration.
All new and returning families will need to access the PowerSchool Parent/Guardian account through a web browser (not the mobile app) to update and confirm all emergency and release contacts, and student health information. Every parent/guardian is required to complete the online registration for every student.
To Complete Annual Online Registration:
- PowerSchool (PS) Registration Link: http://ps.tusd.org
- Click on the TUSD Resources button (see photo)
- Under Information, click on Annual Online Registration and review/complete/update your info.
You must have a parent/guardian PowerSchool login in order to complete the online registration. If you need help creating or accessing your account, please see the Help Sheet or call Nilza or Kathy in the front office for assistance at (310) 533-4484.
π Reminder Regarding Class Celebrations
We love to celebrate your children's hard work, good behavior and birthdays π However, to stay in line with TUSD's wellness policy, we ask our families to refrain from sending food items for classroom celebrations and, although not necessary, celebrate with non-food items instead. While cupcakes, cakes, donuts, and other treats are yummy, some of our kiddos have food allergies and some families may not want their child to eat those types of treats. Also, be sure to contact the teacher in advance if any non-food items will be brought to school. We appreciate your understanding.

π» iReady Student Reports
Students were administered the i-Ready assessment in both Reading and Math at the beginning of this school year. This diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that identifies studentsβ strengths and opportunities for growth, which is important information for teachers as they work with students throughout the school year. Please click below for a more detailed description of how to access your childβs i-Ready report (through their i-Ready login on Clever) and what the information in the report means.
Please reach out if you have any questions or need support in any way.
