TCSE Center School February 2025 Updates

FEBRUARY 2025 updates

February has flown by! After the snow days it was nice to have a full week last week! Hopefully we are back into a steady schedule with no more weather days. Please enjoy the updates and pictures below.

Important Reminders & Dates

~Spring break is next week! March 10th -March 14th (NO SCHOOL).

~Students' next half day is April 25th.

Student of the month awards

Ms. Emily's class

Hailey has increased her communication with staff throughout the day and is seeking interactions with staff. She has also been increasing her independence with work completion!

From Ms. Jessie's class

Xavier has done a great job gaining more independence during transitions, classroom jobs, and meal times. Great job!

Mr. Matt's class

Will has been doing great with his positioning goal to help strengthen his muscles. He is also doing well with greeting staff and classmates using a voice output switch during morning meeting. Yay, Will!

Ms. Alyssa's class

Declan has been working hard to improve his handwriting skills. He learned a new technique and is starting to apply it on his own while working. Awesome job!

Ms. Stephanie's class

Kevin has been doing a great job with his new AAC device. He likes to help staff around the clasroom and is making great progress overall!

Ms. Laurie's class

Elizabeth has shown so much growth this year! She is following directions and participating in all classroom activities.

Ms. Kerri's class

Amelia, "Mimi," has done a great job adjusting to change and is becoming more independent when she moves around!

CORE word of the month

February core word is: LIKE

Core vocabulary words are words that we use often when communicating and can be used in a variety of contexts.

Our Core word of the month is LIKE. You can practice this word by using it during any activty that your child enjoys. For example, if they are playing with a favorite toy, say "You LIKE that" while touching the picture symbol for like. If eating a favorite food, model "You LIKE cookies." While watching TV you can model/say "You LIKE this show."

If your child uses a core board or device at home, touch the symbol for Like while you say the word.
