February Update
Welcome to the month of February!
With the cooler weather settling in, we want to remind everyone to dress warmly and stay comfortable throughout the school day. Be sure to wear layers, coats, and warm accessories to stay cozy, especially as we continue to embrace the chilly mornings.
Let's keep up the great work this month as we dive into new lessons, activities, and projects. Together, we’ll make February a fantastic and productive month for all!

b and d Reversal Practice at Home
A common misconception about reading is that letter reversals are a sign of dyslexia. Did you know that b and d reversals can be changed with practice drills? Here is a link that shows how families can practice this at home to help children “re-wire” their brain to eliminate reversals.

Black History Month
We want to thank the Fort Saskatchewan Multicultural Association for sponsoring Tololwa Mollel to present at Fort Saskatchewan Elementary. Tololwa Mollel is an award winning author of over 20 books and is also a storyteller and dramatist. Tololwa's books have been published in both English and Swahili, which is the national language of his native African country of Tanzania.
Important - Parking Reminder
We kindly remind all parents and guardians not to park in the Fort High parking lot, as these spots are designated for their staff. Ensuring that staff have access to their parking spaces is essential for the smooth operation of their school.
For student drop-off and pick-up, please use the parking lot to the South side of the school or the drop-off loop located within our parking lot. Using the correct areas helps keep traffic flowing smoothly and, most importantly, ensures the safety of our students.
By following these guidelines, we create a safer environment for everyone and show respect for our school community. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to student safety!

Kindergarten Registration is NOW OPEN!
Is your child turning five on or before Dec. 31, 2025? If so, it’s now time to register for kindergarten. To register, simply complete the online registration form at eips.ca/kindergarten. The kit includes information on registration, important dates, programming options, what to expect, eligibility, how to find your designated school, transportation and more.
New for the 2025-26 school year, EIPS is piloting three full-day, every-day kindergarten programs. If interested, families can register their children for these programs until February 28. Learn more
