KCSD Launches Focus Groups to Shape ‘Profile of a Graduate’
You Are Invited to Participate
Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD) invites parents and community members to participate in focus groups this April to inform the creation of the District’s “profile of a graduate.” This information will guide curriculum and instructional planning, ensuring the district aligns with the needs and expectations of the community.
The focus groups, which will take place at Kennett High School in both daytime and evening sessions, are part of Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Rizzo Saunders’ ongoing efforts to build a comprehensive strategic plan for the District. This initiative emphasizes inclusive input from all stakeholders, with specific sessions available for Spanish-speaking participants. We value your input and welcome parents and community members to participate! For more information, click the story link below. To select dates and register, click one of the links below.

Middle School Math Learning Fun
Grade 7 Math

Wizards Game with Staff Raises More Than $10,000 for Thon
KCSD Staff Showed Their Talent on the Court!
While fans across the country watched the NCAA Tournaments Saturday, KCSD families converged on the high school to watch the Wizards face our own team of excellent athletes: KCSD staff! It was not only a competition of talent, but a fundraising effort to add to the totals raised for the Mini-Thon. Ticket sales, souvenirs, concessions, and raffles have so far tallied nearly $13,000! While our staff may not have matched the moves of the renowned Wizards, they certainly showed their commitment to the District and giving back while living their own championship dreams on the court.
Greenwood Students Share Their Talents
Concerts and Special Events Highlight Our Musicians
March was Music In Our Schools Month, and Greenwood students were no exception to the benefit of music at the elementary level. On March 27th, grade 5 students Lilia, Emma, and Imogene represented Greenwood at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 12 Elementary Chorus Fest. They worked hard to prepare extra music leading up to the event and spent a whole day rehearsing with students from 35 other schools to present a spectacular evening performance.
A Special Concert at KHS
On Thursday April 3rd, band and orchestra students held their spring performance. During the day 2nd through 5th grade had the pleasure of hearing their classmates perform. This performance acts as a rehearsal for the more formal evening performance for families and the community. Congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Borneman, Mrs. Strickland, and Miss Stratman for their work in preparing Elementary musicians and for leading the event.
More Musicianship from Bancroft
They, too, Performed at KHS
On March 10, 2025, Bancroft had Advanced Band members participate in the Music on Parade concert at Kennett High School. Mrs. Strickland led these musicians to participate with other students across the district to provide this night of musical entertainment. Well done and Congratulations on such a great accomplishment!
Bark Bucks Continues to Be a Success At New Garden
Rewarding Behavior is The Result
The BARK Buck Positive Behavior Incentive Program has been has been a successful effort at New Garden Elementary! Their students continue to demonstrate kindness, responsibility, respect, and safety throughout their school community. The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBS) program rewards students with BARK bucks when they demonstrate positive behavior expectations (B: be kind, A: Act responsibly, R: Respect yourself and others., and KK Keep safe). Each grade level has a BARK CART and once a week the students can cash in their bucks for prizes OR save their bucks for a bigger prize later. They can even earn incentives such as show and tell or extra recess with their bucks. Prizes are donated by parents and continue to be an important way to generate excitement over appropriate behavior.
