An Update from Hough Elementary
October 29, 2024 Newsletter
Halloween
Here a few last minute reminders about the Thursday festivities:
- 12:15 Parade (K-5th) - West on Lincoln, North on Dundee, East on Lake
- 12:45 Assembly (1st-5th)
- 1:30 Classroom Parties (1st-5th and Kindergarten teachers will communicate directly)
- 2:40 Regular Dismissal
REMINDER - Costumes should be easy for the student to change into by themselves with minimal adult assistance. Students are encouraged to wear as much of their costume to school as possible. Each teacher will work with their class to find an appropriate time when students may “change”/ add final costume details (wings, crown, etc.). Costumes should be elementary-age appropriate (no gore, no weapons, etc.). If make-up is part of the costume, this must be applied at home, prior to school.
November is Gratitude Month
Our Hough Hawks took Responsibility very seriously during the month of October. Hopefully you noticed this behavior at home too. We are launching our new characteristic, Gratitude, this week, which will continue through the month of November. This is a wonderful way to reflect as a family about the abundance of blessings, opportunities, and good wishes we have in our lives. We will encourage our students to appreciate the people and things that make their lives so special. Please read the attached newsletter to learn more about this next theme.
Harry was acting responsibly this month!
Mrs. Keller's class was recognized on October 16th.
Mrs. Laughlin's class was awarded the trophy on October 25th.
Morning Announcements
Our students are having a ton of fun leading the daily announcements. Every student will have an opportunity, as we are starting in the older grades and working our way down to our youngest broadcast journalists. We have also had some Hough siblings fill in when needed. Feel free to check out the announcement links on the Hough webpage, under the Families tab.
Hough Facebook Page
If you haven't had an opportunity to check out the Hough Facebook page, we encourage you to do so. We regularly post fun pics of Hough happenings, as well as upcoming events. Stay in the know and look at all that the Hough Hawks are accomplishing.
