Happy February! Last month students worked hard on FAST assessments in both Math and Reading. At our recent PBIS assembly we recognized students with perfect attendance. Our Spartan PRIDE focus for the month of February is "Excellence."

We have been enjoying our High Five Fridays with various groups and teams from the High School. The connection between our two school buildings has been so fun to see! We look forward to seeing everyone at Parent-Teacher Conferences at the end of the month. School Breakfast is served from 7:35-8:10. Breakfast is $2.05/student. No need to sign up!

The Food Bank of Iowa's BackPack Program is designed to increase access to easy-to-prepare, single servings of food to school-age children on weekends when school lunch or breakfast is not offered. The Food Bank of Iowa and Collins-Maxwell Elementary would like to invite your child to participate in this free program.

• Every Friday, Your child will receive a sack
• There is no fee to participate
• Notify the elementary office if interested.
  

Elementary will be kicking off our annual Jump Rope for Heart February 26th. Donations will continue thru March 14th online or with your students.

Class Parties will be Friday February 14th at 2:15.💘

The temperature & winds make our playground very cold. Send your students with a winter coat, snow pants, gloves or mittens, hat & even warm socks and shoes! We want them to enjoy their time outside!

Please contact the office if you would like a permission form to have your student join our mentoring program.

• Mentors are screened & trained from the YSS program
• Teachers & School staff help match appropriate mentors with mentees
• Mentors eat lunch, play games, make crafts during lunch & recess times during school hours.
