Focus: Digital Learning Week #2
Progress Reports: Emailed home on Thursday, March 26th
Throughout the week of March 23-27, we will have Digital Learning Days.
On Monday, March 23, Gwinnett County Public Schools will launch Week 2 of digital learning. We appreciate our teachers, students, and families who worked together to make Week 1 successful. We are so impressed with their commitment to ensuring teaching and learning continues during these challenging times! And we also thank those of you at home for ensuring that your children are logging in and staying up-to-date on their classwork. Teachers are working with students and families who have questions about digital learning. If you need support, contact your child’s teacher or school. Remember, Digital Learning Days are school days that will not be made up, so this work, what children are learning, and the grades they are earning are important.
As part of its support to students and families during Week 2, the school district will continue to provide lunch for pick-up at 68 school sites, and school buses will continue delivering lunch at bus stops. These meals are available to anyone 18 years of age or younger, no matter which school you attend. A list of school sites and the clusters and schools where delivery is provided can be found on the district website. Please note that these meals will not be provided during Spring Break (March 30-April 3).
Again, we will begin Week 2 of digital learning next week, which will be followed by GCPS' scheduled Spring Break (March 30-April 3). As a school district, we are grateful to all of you for your continued patience and understanding as we work through this unprecedented time. Thank you sincerely to everyone for banding together to support each other and our students.

Reminder: Community Service and Action 2019-2020
The IB MYP focus on community service and action is meant to encourage and enable students to:
Generate creative new insights and develop deeper understandings of local and global issues
- Communicate effectively in a variety of situations
- Demonstrate responsible action through, or as a result of, learning
- Appreciate the process of learning in service to and for others and take pride in their accomplishments
At Pinckneyville, we want to expand classroom learning to the community and beyond. To do so, students are encouraged to identify areas where they can apply personal strengths to organizations or areas in need. Students should begin service and action hours and use the log in the front of the student agenda and log hours for the school year on the Pinckneyville Website! (10+ hours by May 1) Be sure to keep proof of service with signatures in your student's agenda book. There will be prizes and awards for top participants!
