Dear Families,
We are excited to start our 4th week of school! We have completed our first fire drill, practiced our tornado sheltering procedures, and spent a lot of time reviewing our common area expectations and classroom expectations. We are wrapping up our fall universal screening benchmark testing this week and are excited to share results with families.
We still have several Lansing Elementary Site Council positions available. Site Council assists our school by providing advice and council around meeting performance goals and provides feedback and support. We meet once a month. The first meeting is September 26th @ 4:00-5:00 in the library and child care is also provided. Meetings will be the last instructional Thursday of each month. We have many family engagement activities in the month of September including our first Family Skate Night, first Inclusive Playground Meeting, our Back to School Bash, our First Site Council Meeting, and our second PTA meeting. Please find information below. Families are encouraged to participate in our events. If you have any questions, please reach out!

Arrival & Dismissal Map: Please remember that cars are not able to enter our front parking lot between 7:45 and 8:15 each day. Please see our map below.
Our Schedule: Our school day is from 8:30-3:30 (M-W, & F) and 9:30-3:30 on Thursdays. Students are considered tardy if they arrive at school after 8:30 (M-W, & F) and after 9:30 on Late Start Thursdays. If your student(s) is going to be late or absent please call us at 913-727-1128.

Family Engagement & PTA: Our next Parent-Teacher Association meeting is September 19th. The doors open at 6:00 for socializing and the meeting starts at 6:30. See more information below.
Before/After School care: Please see Y-care flyers. Parents/Guardians using Y-care will enter on the west side (2/3 side) through doors 20 & 21.
