CAASPP testing starts Thursday, March 20
CAASPP testing starts Thursday, March 20 through Friday March 28 for ALL JUNIORS. Students will receive up to 5 points each day of testing and the points will accumulate on the 5-star app. These points can be traded in April for off campus pass, merchandise, and raffles for prizes such as Senior year prom tickets and parking pass.
To prepare for the CAASPP testing, students should do the following:
1) Ensure that you can open the "Secure test browser" located on the bottom of your Chromebook.
2) If you want to use your own headphones/airpod, make sure that you set this up prior to testing.
3) Do a practice testing by going to the website: https://login5.cambiumtds.com/student_core/V147/Pages/LoginShell.aspx?c=California_PT&a=Student
4) Do a diagnostic to ensure that your chromebook is correctly configured for testing. This is located in the practice test.
If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Vu
CAASPP
California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) will take place March 20 through March 28, 2025. The bell schedule will NOT be affected by testing. All Juniors will take the Summative Assessments in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science during their Social Science and English classes. Please encourage your students to do their best and ‘Show what they know” as CAASPP is important for the following:
The CAASPP is a prerequisite for individual honors including the State Seal of Biliteracy and Golden State Seal Merit Diploma.
It is a College Readiness Indicator -students who achieve a certain score are considered to be college ready. Click here for information on how CSU utilizes the CAASPP results. For Community college, CAASPP results could be used as evidence of meeting class prerequisites.
CAASPP provides an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the academic standards. The results will NOT be used for any evaluative grade purposes. Instead, this information helps plan out curriculum supports, instruction, and resource allocation to support student learning.
Student participation and performance on the state tests directly contribute to school’s academic performance accountability measures on the California Dashboard.
Most importantly, taking the CAASPP state test provides valuable information to our school about how our students are performing in the tested areas. This data helps us identify strengths and areas that need improvement, allowing us to better focus our efforts to support student success.
Click here to see our district’s website for more information.
If you would like to speak to me regarding how taking the CAASPP benefits students, please feel free to contact me. See Video link

Congratulations to Granada High’s Teacher of the Month, Betsy Wilson!
Teaching runs in the family—Betsy and her daughter both share their passion for education at Granada High! A proud Matador alumna from the Class of ‘87, Betsy has stayed true to her roots, now inspiring students in the very halls where she once walked.
Beyond the classroom, Betsy has a deep love for volleyball , which she carried through college and continues to enjoy. As a co-teacher and resource teacher, she works one-on-one with students, ensuring they have the support they need to succeed in high school and beyond.
Thank you, Betsy, for your dedication to Granada High and for making a difference in the lives of your students! We appreciate you!

OUTSIDE OPPORTUNITIES
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE
Seeking parent volunteers to help proctor GHS IB Exams
We are looking for parent volunteers to help us proctor our International Baccalaureate (IB) exams at Granada High this May. If you would be interested in helping us proctor our IB Exams, please see the link below to access the SignUp Genius form with dates and times of available proctoring slots.
No training session is necessary to proctor IB Exams because the IB coordinator will be present for all exams to give instructions. We just need to have extra adults in the room for exams, and you would help with passing out materials and collecting exams.
Please note, if your child is taking any IB exam, you may not proctor that exam subject, but you may proctor other subjects.
If you have not volunteered in our district previously, you would need to complete the Livermore Valley Joint Unified Volunteer Application prior to volunteering. You can find the application at
https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/NjgzMzplbi1VUw==
If you have any questions, please contact GHS IB Coordinator Jon Cariveau at jcariveau@lvjusd.org.
We would really appreciate any volunteers to help us with IB exam proctoring if any of you are available. Thanks in advance!
