ROCKS Spotlight
Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break ROCKS! Our staff is excited to have our students back in the building for the next 3 weeks! There are many upcoming holiday events over the next several weeks. We hope you can join us!
Our counseling team is holding their annual College Planning Night tomorrow night, Tuesday, Dec 3rd for all 9th-11th grade students. This is excellent time to bring your student and join them as they inform and prepare on post-secondary educational opportunities after high school. More information is below!
A HUGE shout-out to our ROCKS Football team for their performance at the STATE game this past Friday night. They had an incredible season. Their teamwork and dedication have made our entire community proud.

Upcoming Events/Information
All students in grades 9-11 and their parents/guardians are invited to join the WHS Counseling Center for our annual College Planning Night. This event is designed to inform and prepare students on their post-secondary educational opportunities after high school. Whether students are heading to vocational programs or two-year or four-year colleges, this evening will provide you with the steps you can take now and in the future to prepare for the admission process, and the transition to college.
The evening will begin with grade-specific opening sessions, as well as a session in Spanish. After the opening, we will have breakout sessions discussing financial aid, NCAA eligibility, earning college credit through AP and dual credit courses, college entrance exams, a college admission counselor panel discussion, and more. We hope you can join us for this informative event!

Scheduling for 25-26
This week, WHS Counselors will meet with all Grade 10 students to go over scheduling information for their junior year. All scheduling information, including the presentation given this morning, can be found on the WHS Scheduling Website (linked here). If you were absent, please reference the Scheduling Website to review the information. Powerschool will open after the meetings on Thursday for sophomores to input their requests. All Grade 10 course requests must be inputted by January 5th.
Submit your requests to the best of your ability and jot down any questions you may have to address during your individual scheduling meeting! Individual scheduling meetings with counselors will begin on January 13th.
Grade 9 scheduling meetings will be on January 8th.
AP Information for 24-25 school year
For ALL AP information, please check out the updated newsletter and the AP Exam Schedule for May 2025 on the WHS AP Website. AP classes are college-level courses offered through the College Board at Westfield High School.

Jostens' Graduation Ordering Information
The senior class received Jostens graduation packets (cap, gown, announcement info) last Friday, November 15th,during CORE time. If your student does NOT receive a Jostens packet on November 15th in CORE, they can pick one up at the Information Desk with Mrs. Zaichek prior to Thanksgiving.

Safety/Parking Permit Information
Parking Permits
We will not be selling any 2024-2025 parking permits for the time being. We will start a wait list and re-evaluate when spots become available.
Students who wish to drive to school and park on school grounds must have a valid parking permit on file and display the 2024-2025 parking permit on their car at all times while on school property. Students are required to purchase a new permit each year.

WHS Animal Club is collecting pet items for the Humane Society from Dec 1-15. Drop off items in #1407 or in the Learning Center. (paper towels, cat food, dog food, used bath towels, toys, canned spray cheese)

WEF: Holiday Giving Program
Holiday Giving is back! The Westfield Education Foundation is excited to partner with Westfield Washington Schools, Westfield Youth Assistance, Open Doors of Westfield, Inspire Church and other local churches to help make the holidays special for Westfield students in need. Last year we supported 1,200 students!

ROCK STRONG Award
The Rock Strong Award presented by the Westfield Education Foundation is a quarterly award, given out at each school and operations to recognize teachers, instructional assistants, instructional coaches, building secretaries, bus drivers, substitute teachers, food service staff and operations staff for the great work they do for our children and our community!
Each quarter, all schools and operations will review nominations from staff, students, families and the community and select someone who represents its values and culture to receive the Rock Strong Award and a special gift.

TalkingPoints-Family Communication
Westfield Washington Schools use a program called TalkingPoints to communicate with families! TalkingPoints allows for seamless multilingual two-way communication between teachers and families. Families can choose to receive messages via SMS text messaging or through the free FAMILIES | TalkingPoints mobile app for Apple or Android.
*The most important thing you can do to ensure you are receiving messages from your child’s teacher is to make sure your contact information for the “Father” and “Mother” fields in PowerSchool is correct.
