he final week of the 2022-2023 school year was another MAVulous week at McNeil!
Monday evening OUR annual Senior Award Ceremony was held to honor our graduating seniors by recognizing them for their individual academic successes.
Wednesday OUR Class of 2023 Seniors visited feeder elementary and middle schools for the annual Senior Walks.
Thursday we said goodbye to our Class of 2023 Graduating Seniors. Video of the McNeil Class of 2023 graduation can be found HERE. We are SO PROUD of our GRADUATES!! We will miss you but we wonβt forget you. You will ALL do aMAVzing things in your future! Remembe, The Horse Will Be With You Always!!
Beginning Tuesday, May 30, the McNeil Summer Office Hours are Monday - Thursday 8:30 - 4:30. Class of 2023 Seniors may pick up their Official Diplomas from the McNeil Front Office beginning Thursday, June 1.
Friday was the first day of summer for students but the Maverick Staff gathered one more time as a full faculty to honor 4 MAVnificent Maverick Staff members who retired at the end of the 2022-2023 school year and we recognized our aMAVzing campus accomplishments with this year in review department slideshow. CONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Denise Duchesneau, Ms. Laura Falli, Ms. Kari Teague, and Ms. Amanda Worrell and THANK YOU for your dedication and service to ALL students at McNeil High School. YOU WILL BE MISSED!
Academic All-State is an award that can only be earned by graduating seniors who are chosen by the Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas National Guard based on their 4 year academic success. CONGRATULATIONS to the MHS Golf Academic All-State award winners! Camden Anderson, Faith Collier, Joaquin Courtney, Kaylee Grossman (ELITE), Aney Kanji, Kevin Kim (ELITE), Evan Koen, and Ava Mieskoski.
Kevin Kim was named to the Boys ELITE Team, which was awarded to the top 16 boy nominees in Texas and Kaylee Grossman was named to the Girls ELITE Team, which is awarded to the top 13 girl nominees in Texas! Kaylee was also on the ELITE Team for Swimming - which makes her one of only 18 athletes (male and female) in ALL of TEXAS to be given ELITE status in more than one sport. With 7 total honorees, McNeil Golf has the 5th highest number of Academic All-State Team members in the state (out of 2,800+ high schools). Way to go MAVS!! We are VERY PROUD of YOU!!
CONGRATULATIONS to the MHS Baseball Teamβs Academic All-State and Academic All-District award winners! James Morio was named to the Academic All-State 1st Team and Brandon Morio and Charlie Shanks for being named to the Academic All-State 2nd Team. We are SO PROUD of YOU!!
Mark your calendars⦠Meet the Mavs will be held at Maverick Stadium on Friday, August 11th at 7 p.m.. Meet the MAVS is OUR annual event to celebrate YOUR McNeil Athletic Teams, Band, Cheer, The Majestics and The Sapphires Dance Teams and various other MAverick Extracurricular activities. It is ALWAYS an aMAVzing event you do not want to miss. Each year Meet the MAVS is coordinated by our MAVulous McNeil Maverick Football Booster Club.
OUR McNeil PTSA is the ABSOLUTE best! Please consider joining the PTSA for the 2023-2024 school year to support YOUR Maverick Students and YOUR Maverick Staff. The PTSA is for Parents/Guardians and Community members, Teachers and Staff, AND McNeil Students. Over 60% of the $10 membership fee goes DIRECTLY to the McNeil PTSA for use in support of Maverick Students and Teachers. Summer Office Hours
Medical Forms for Next School Year
Prepare for school year 2023-2024! Does your student have Asthma or an Allergy and have a need for inhaler or Epi-pen on Campus? Will your student need to take medication during the school day next year? Do you plan to leave Ibuprofen, Tylenol, allergy medication, or cough drops in the Nurse Clinic in August? We have forms for you! Please visit our Health Services website to view and print the forms. (Reminder: All medications are to go through the Nurse Clinic. Students are not allowed to bring medication to campus or carry it in their backpacks. We will keep the medication in the clinic for your student to access when needed. All forms require parent signature and prescription medication will also require a signature from the doctor, PA, or NP)
Also, at the Health Services website are our Action Plans. Please have those filled out by your students physician over the summer and turn into the Clinic in August.
Summer Verification of Enrollment (VOE's)
Any VOE issued during the last 5 days of the school year will expire on the first day of the following school year. If you are in need of a VOE over the summer you may
order one next week that will be valid until the first day of school. In addition, there will be a contact at school over the summer that will be able to send you one as well. Please complete this form to receive a VOE via email.
TEXTBOOKS TEXTBOOKS TEXTBOOKS
ALL TEXTBOOKS ARE DUE NOW TO THE TEXTBOOK ROOM. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR TEXTBOOKS IN THE BROWN COLLECTION BOX OUTSIDE THE TEXTBOOK ROOM. DO NOT LEAVE THEM WITH A TEACHER OR IN A CLASSROOM.

Parents and Students please note ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A MCNEIL PARKING PERMIT TO PARK ON CAMPUS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR!
SENIORS:
Project Graduation Reserved/Painted Parking Spots will go on sale August 7th & 8th. These will be sold on a first come first served basis. This year there are 200 spots available. These spots require a payment of $100 to PTSA AND a payment of $25 to McNeil High School. These are reserved parking spots that students are permitted to paint with some reasonable rules and requirements.
Regular senior parking spots will go on sale August 9th. These spots require a payment of $25.00 to McNeil High School and are for daily spots on a first come first served basis.
Underclassmen:
All underclassmen parking spots will go on sale August 10th & 11th. These spots require a payment of $25.00 to McNeil High School and are for daily spots on a first come first served basis. THESE STUDENTS MAY NOT LEAVE CAMPUS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY!
Over the summer, please be on the lookout for emails explaining the REQUIRED PRE-REGISTRATION APPLICATION for STUDENT PARKING PERMITS and the RULES & REGULATIONS FOR ALL DRIVERS ON CAMPUS.
Round Rock ISD Advanced Academics Summer Experience
Round Rock ISD Advanced Academics Summer Experience for (2023-2024) 9th-12th graders who are taking their first college-credit-bearing course (AP, IB, OnRamps, Dual Credit).
As a student taking a college credit bearing course for the first time in the 2023-2024 school year, it is our honor to invite you to participate in the Round Rock ISD Advanced Academics Summer Experience Course. This half-day in-person summer session focuses on developing the mindset and skills you will need to start your college-credit-bearing course experience off on a successful path. Topics covered include habits of mind, time management, note-taking, the advantages of study groups, how to ask for help, how to respond to a prompt, and more. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions of a panel of students who have previously participated in college credit bearing courses successfully.
There is no fee for this session and students will receive a reminder the week before the session date.

The 2024 Spring Break trip to London, England has opened up more spots! Did you enjoy talking with our British visitors? Then come join us and visit their famous city.
Enrollment is open and accepting submissions. Come join us and explore the sites and history of London, and participate in STEM activities in forensics and code-breaking!
