Don't forget... Tuesday, August 27th is an Early Release Day across KCSD96. Kindergarten and grades 1-5 dismiss at 2:05pm. Grades 6-8 dismiss at 1:30pm. Structured Early Childhood and Blended PM dismiss at 2:05 pm. ECSE/Blended AM dismisses at 10:10am.

Parents and guardians have been doing a fantastic job registering and using our web portal for meal payments, fee payments, breakfast/lunch menus, and free-and-reduced meal applications. It's called LINQ Connect and it has given our families the opportunity to manage all of their school-relayed payments in one place. For more information, just head to our KCSD96 website for step-by-step instructions on how to create and navigate an account.

Parents and guardians, please be aware that KCSD96 school breakfast and lunch prices are increasing by 25 cents (Breakfast $2 and Lunch $3), aligning with other local school districts. This increase is driven by rising inflation and higher food costs, impacting schools nationwide. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to provide nutritious and delicious meals, so students can better focus on learning in the classroom.

At KCSD96, ensuring students' digital safety is a top priority. We are committed to creating a secure online environment through comprehensive policies, cutting-edge technology, and ongoing education. By prioritizing digital safety, we empower students to explore, learn, and thrive in the digital world with confidence.

That is why we are pleased to continue offering Lightspeed Filter, our content filtering system, to help keep your child safe online. This tool filters inappropriate content and provides valuable insights into your child's internet activity on District devices.

• New Families: After the first week of browsing, you’ll receive an email from Lightspeed with instructions on how to access your child's online activity portal and subscribe to weekly reports.
• Returning Families: If your child is returning this year, you will continue to receive weekly reports, and there’s no need to sign up again. You can simply log in with your existing credentials.

This partnership will help us ensure that your child’s digital learning is both safe and productive both at school and at home.

Before the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, board members had the opportunity to tour the newly designed learning environments at Twin Groves. These include The Collaboratory, the Makers Space, and the Noisy Lab—each a collaborative, hands-on area designed to foster innovative learning. Meanwhile, KCSD96 administration is already in the planning stages for similar developments at Woodlawn Middle School, with construction set to begin next summer and completed for the 2025-2026 school year. Every student who enters our middle schools will have the chance to benefit from these cutting-edge spaces.

Join our team! Kildeer Countryside School District 96 is currently hiring for several positions, including:

• Special Education Aides (starting pay is $22.02/hour)
• Intensive Special Education Aides (starting pay is $24.35/hour)
• Instructional Aides (starting pay is $22.02/hour)

*The positions require an active Paraprofessional License.

We are also seeking:

• A Full-time Night Shift Custodian (Starting pay is $23.20/hour with 2:45pm-11:15pm shift)
