St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 4 | 31 OCTOBER 2024
Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
The weather this week has been absolutely beautiful, and our students have definitely made the most of being out in the sunshine, enjoying every minute! Swimming lessons conclude this week for our Year One and Two students and will begin for our Year Three to Six students.
The Annual School Community General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 6pm in the Multipurpose Room. This meeting is open to everyone in our School Community and I encourage you to come along and listen to both the P&F Executive and the School Advisory Council as they will present their annual reports for 2024. I will also be presenting a snapshot of our school year, celebrating all the wonderful things that we have achieved this year and also an overview of our NAPLAN Data. The election of new members onto the School Advisory Council or P&F Executive will be held at this meeting. For more information and nominations, please refer to the link below.
Finally, as we start the countdown towards the final few weeks of school, I would like to inform the school community about our Staffing for 2025. As already communicated some staff will be leaving us and have taken up positions at other CEWA schools for 2025. On behalf of everyone, I take this opportunity to thank them all for everything they have done for the school community over the past few years and wish them all the best. Staffing has been finalised and an outline of Staff for 2025 can be found below. Please note that staffing can be an evermoving landscape and there may still be changes before the start of 2024. If anything changes with staffing this will be communicated.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
God bless,
Rebecca Clarke
Principal

What you need to know!
Students will be getting changed at school before and after lessons - please see your classroom teacher's Seesaw correspondence for more information.
Students may bring a robe to wear over bathers whilst on route there and back, or use their towel.
We recommend bringing a waterproof or plastic style bag for wet bathers to come home in. Students with one piece bathers should not wear this under their uniform, as the sessions are in the afternoon and they will need to use the bathroom during the school day.
Rash vests are permitted. No bikini's please - two piece modest bathers or one piece swimwear are preferred.
Please ensure your child has the following items for swimming lessons and they are clearly labelled with their name in a separate swimming bag.
- bathers
- towel
- goggles
- thongs/crocs/slip on's
Please do not order lunch during your swimming lesson weeks. Students will require a packed lunch.
Parents and family members are welcome to spectate; Aquamotion charge a casual spectator entry fee of $2 per session and this can be paid on entry at Aquamotion.
Reconciliation Parent and Child Workshop
Our Year Three parents and students attended a collaborative workshop run by 24:7 Ministry. It was an engaging and informative evening run by Mario, fostering a sense of community and deepening our understanding of the sacrament. Thank you to all of our families for making the time to attend the workshop, as we appreciate how busy everyone is at this time of the year.
Reconciliation Retreat Day - Friday, 1 November
Our Year Three students will be participating in a retreat day this Friday, 1 November. Students will leave by bus at 8:40am and return at approximately 2:40pm. Students are asked to please bring their recess, lunch, water bottles and hats along for the day.
All Saints' and All Souls' Day
Today we were lead by Mr Fitzgibbons, Mrs Curtis and our wonderful Year Five students in a whole school liturgy for All Souls' and All Saints' Day! All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day are special days when we remember and celebrate the lives of people who have passed away. For our children, these days can help them understand the importance of honouring loved ones and recognising the impact they had on our lives.
All Saints' Day is about celebrating the Saints—people who lived good lives and showed kindness and love, inspiring us to be our best selves. All Souls' Day, on the other hand, is a time to remember family and friends who have passed, reflecting on happy memories and the love we shared with them. Together, these days teach children about compassion, gratitude, and the connections that continue even after someone is gone, helping them learn to express their feelings and understand the cycle of life.
Parent Reminder for the End of Term!
As we approach the end of the school year, we understand that this time can be particularly hectic and tiring for everyone. The number of activities and preparations for the end of term can leave us feeling overwhelmed.
It’s important to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work your children have put in throughout the year, as well as the effort you’ve made to support them. As we navigate these final weeks, let’s remember to prioritise self-care and balance. Encouraging your child to take breaks, have some downtime on weekends/after school and maintain a positive mindset can make a significant difference.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication. Together, we can help our children finish the year strong!
In gratitude
Emma Fernandez

ATTENTION: ALL DAD'S ... 2025 Dad's Expressions of Interest
ATTENTION: ALL DAD'S ... 2025 Dad's Expressions of Interest
The P&F are seeking expressions of interest from DAD’s who are keen to form a special committee to arrange an event for Dad’s to spend time with their children at a school event.
We need at least four (4) Dad volunteers to come together and work as a team to decide what you would like to do, when you would like to do it and oversee the running of the event.
Possible ideas include;
- After school sports event with a sausage sizzle
- Games afternoon inc tug of war, egg and spoon race etc
- Movie night in the school hall
- Campout on the school grounds
If this is something you would like to be a part of, please email the P&F directly at pandfstelizabeths@gmail.com by 3rd November 2024.
Thank you for supporting the P&F!
Containers for Change
This year the Year 6 students are raising money through the Containers for Change initiative to donate to LifeLink. If you and your family have spare cans or bottles that you would like to contribute to our school collection, please scan this barcode when you are returning your containers, every container counts!
