Meet Cookie, part of the Rodeghier Family. Cookie is a mini Aussie Doodle who loves a good belly rub.

Meet Teddy, part of the Gerwin and Ritger family. Teddy is a teddy bear dog who loves people and all other dogs.

Meet Thanos, part of the Mrs. Lutter family. Thanos is a 4 year old Great Dane who has no concept of his true size. He shows his love by sharing lots of drool and attempting to sit on you.

Meet John and Wayne, part of the Mrs. Packer family.

Our Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held virtually this year on Thursday, November 10th or Thursday, November 17th from 3:15-7:15. If you are interested in meeting with your child's teacher(s), please log-in to your Family Access Account to sign-up for a time slot. Please contact Andrea Janzer at andrea.janzer@slingerschools.org with Family Access questions. Sign-up will be open until November 15th. If you would like to meet with your student's counselor, please email them directly.

A big thank you to all who have supported our cause through the Color Run fundraiser. With those funds, another recent donation from Modern Woodmen, and the Neil E. Park Family Foundation Grant, we were able to raise around $25,500 to put towards more age-appropriate outdoor equipment at SMS. We presented our proposal for the outdoor fitness obstacle course and turf (see below) to the School Board this past Monday evening. Our School Board asked us to put it on next month's agenda for further discussion on covering the remainder of the cost. The Village of Slinger will also be discussing this addition, as we share a lot of our land around the school building. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting opportunity for our students, staff, families and the Slinger Community!

7th and 8th grade Boys basketball will be starting on Monday, Oct. 31st. Please make sure your child(ren) has all necessary forms handed in so they can practice. 7th Grade has early practice at 2:50 - 4:15 followed by 8th Grade at 4:20 - 5:45.

Wrestling will be starting on Monday, Nov. 7th. Practice will be from 4:30 - 6:00. Please make sure your child(ren) has all necessary forms handed in so they can practice.

There will be a Forensics Informational Meeting on 11/7 at 2:45 in the cafeteria.

The holiday seasons have already started, which means Christmas is around the corner. If you have experienced hardships of a recent death, unemployment, underemployment, injury, illness, disability, divorce, etc, and feel you will not be able to bring the holiday experience you want to your family, please reach out to Kelly Pokrzwya, our SMS Guidance Counselor, for more information.

Our Slinger High School National Honor Society students would love to help any SMS students in need of some extra tutoring. If you are considering this for your child, please reach out to tami.dorzok@slingerschools.org, the advisor for NHS, and she will work with you to set something up.

In honor of all our Veterans, we will be holding a Veteran's Day Assembly on November 11th for students only.

Please also be aware, the Allenton Post Veteran's Personnel will be doing a 21 Gun Salute on Friday, November 11 around 8:30 am near St. Peter's church.
