Himlie Hello
November 11, 2024
Dunn families,
I hope you have been enjoying the season change as much as I have. The leaves have been beautiful; the Old Town lights are on; the sweaters and blankets are coming out.
First, today I would like to say HAPPY VETERANS DAY to all who have served and to your families. We are grateful for your service.
I would also like to thank each of you for contributing to our Dunn Fund. This fundraiser raised $20,500 - close to our goal of $30,000! These funds go directly to field trips, assemblies, fifth grade continuation and providing free yearbooks to fifth graders, instructional resources, and providing a no-cost Eco-experience each year. Families can contribute donations at any time for these supports at bit.ly/DunnFund24 .
You Belong,
Abby

PSD Lockdown Drill Week
You should have received an email from district office on October 29 regarding PSD's Lockdown Drill week. In case you missed it, please see the information here:
All Poudre School District schools will participate in Lockdown Drill Week between Nov. 12 and 15 as part of the district’s ongoing safety and security efforts. During the drill, students and staff are directed to a safe location inside the building. Exterior and interior doors, windows, and access points are closed and locked.
Schools won’t know beforehand when their school’s specific drill is set to occur during the week. At the start of a drill, school staff will announce that a lockdown drill is underway. They will emphasize that it is only a drill and that there is not an active threat to the school.
You can also expect to see a heavier-than-usual law enforcement presence at the schools when drills occur. PSD is hosting the drills in partnership with multiple law enforcement agencies. After the drill, school staff, members of PSD’s Security Department, and law enforcement officers will review how things went.
PSD follows national best practices so that drills are conducted in a manner that’s age appropriate and considers the impact of trauma. However, if your student(s) has experienced feeling stressed because of past drills, we encourage you to reach out to your school, so staff are aware and can talk with you about the ways your child may be supported. If you want to opt your child out of the lockdown drill next week, please contact your school’s front office and ask to speak with the office manager, who will assist with that process.
Information about Safety and Security in PSD is available here. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and participating in these drills together builds upon our shared culture of safety.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
AND THANK YOU TO MARLI CALLAHAN, OUR CARNIVAL QUEEN!
Marli, your planning and coordination are extraordinary and appreciated.

Dunn After School Clubs
We realize that it has been more difficult to find information on after-school club registration. There is a new policy that we can only send out the packet of information with the links to clubs in the beginning of the year. We have found a way to have this information more accessible to families while following guidelines. Please click on our website at any time to see the information to sign up for clubs!
Help our Staff Park
Our staff has grown - which is great. Our parking lot cannot. The parking on Washington is two hours or less, so our paraprofessionals who begin at 8:30am really needs to park in the lot when they arrive. Please do not park in the parking lot in the morning if you will be at Dunn for less than two hours. Thank you!
