Clinic Update
The clinic is seeking donations of gently used pants (jeans, leggings, etc) for boys’ and girls’ sizes 10-16. These sizes are in particularly high demand as we receive donations from smaller sizes more often when our kiddos outgrow them.
We also greatly appreciate donations of new undergarments in all sizes.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
ECSE Registration
Leesburg Elementary is now accepting applications for our Preschool Reverse Inclusion class for the 2025-2026 school year. The program is five days a week, Monday through Friday 8:00am-2:00pm. Our program will educate both children with disabilities, whom we currently serve, and typically developing children from the Leesburg attendance area. We are currently searching for typically developing students who will be four years old by September 30, 2025 to join our program. Please complete the application and turn it in to the front office by March 28, 2025.
Fusion / DCI Update
We have exciting news to share! Leesburg Elementary School has been given the "spotlight" designation for the February 11th school board meeting. Leesburg was selected for the spotlight due to the grant our FUSION and DCI students researched, applied for, received, and invested in starting our school store, Eagle's Nest.
DCI ELA students were involved in researching, writing, revising, and editing the LEF grant proposal and grant feedback
DCI ELA students are currently responsible for all facets of the marketing process, including: researching products and consumer demand, creating advertisements, making fliers, writing articles, and filming commercials
DCI Math students currently help with pricing strategies, calculating profit margins, balancing the cash box, making daily deposits, maintaining sales reports, and monitoring inventory
Last year's FUSION students explored Eagle's Nest LEADERSHIP roles while this year's FUSION students are focusing on INNOVATING the process of school supply retail.
After a mere four months of operation in the 2023-2024 school year, the students were able to make a donation of $497.19 to St. Jude Children's Hospital. It is worth mentioning that the students were also responsible for researching and deciding upon a charitable organization.
All current Leesburg students and their families are invited to attend the school board meeting. The LEF filmed and created an Eagle's Nest spotlight video to be shared at the school board meeting. Additionally, a presentation created by Ms. Sarman, featuring the FUSION/DCI students, their work, and their accomplishments will be shared. Leesburg's principal Shawn Lacey, gifted education teacher Ms. Sarman, and a few FUSION students will all be speaking during the presentation. Hopefully, many of you will be able to attend the meeting, as well. Past and present Leesburg FUSION and DCI students will be seated as a group and will be asked to stand to be recognized. All students are being encouraged to wear Leesburg Elementary spirit wear.
The February 11th school board meeting at 21000 Education Court, Ashburn, VA 20148 will begin at 6:30 pm and our spotlight is the first item on the agenda. I hope to see you there!
Kindergarten and New Student Registration
The 2025-2026 school year pre-registration portal, for Kindergarten and all new students, is now open! Registration appointments will be scheduled by the school to start on February 3, 2025. Please make sure to select the correct school year during your pre-registration application.
A child may enter kindergarten if they turn five on or before September 30 of the year they enter school. The age requirement is set by Virginia law and LCPS is unable to make any exceptions.
Once you complete the pre-registration and have the required documentation (in some cases, with the exception of medical), the school registrar will contact you to set up your registration appointment.
Pre-registration is an opportunity for families to do their paperwork in advance of registration appointments with your student’s school. Registration appointments will be taken at the school that serves your address.
For more information, visit the Online Pre-registration page.
Pre-registration is only for:
Students, grades kindergarten-12, who are new to LCPS
Current LCPS Pre-kindergarten students entering kindergarten
Students who were formerly enrolled and may be returning to LCPS
Students who are currently enrolled do not need to re-register.
