SCHOOL SCHEDULE
NEW - Every Wednesday is an early release day. ALL 1st - 6th grade students will be dismissed at 1:10pm. PM Kinders will follow the AM schedule and will be dismissed at 12:10.
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Welcome Back - I hope that your children are rested and eager to return to school. I know that I miss seeing your kids and being on campus! This week Homework Club returns and on Thursday we will have make up school pictures.
Online Data Confirmation - We still have 87 families who have not completed this important task. With that said, we will be calling families and walking you through this process over the phone. This is a vital piece to the school funding formula. We need every family to do their part.
On behalf of our PTO here is some news that I want to share. Our Harvest Festival is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25 and your help is needed. The PTO needs parent volunteers to help with set up, food, and clean up. We are also looking for donations of candy and small prizes for the booths. Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 3:00 at our planning meeting and the Sign Up genius link.

Spelling Bee
Before going on break students had the opportunity to take home spelling lists for our Annual School Spelling Bee. Last year, Ryan Ly represented our school and just missed out going to the County Spelling Bee. We will hold our school bee on Oct. 21, 2024.
SAFETY
SAFETY - VANDALISM
Help save our Otter. It has been noted that someone is breaking the fence cups used in our otter on the fence. This was purchased to enhance our campus and it is distrubing to see it be destroyed. We will work to replace the missing cups but if you see someone taking the cups out or breaking them - please call the police and let the school know. Thank you for your help.
School Level Parent and Family Engagement Policy
Take some time to review our Title I School Level Parent and Family Engagement Policy. If you are interested in providing feedback or have some questions please attend our SSC meeting in September. Thanks.

School Nutrition
With the start of the new school year, here is a quick reminder regarding food that is sent to school for the classroom. Food that is sent to a classroom as a treat or reward should follow our District Guidelines regarding nutrition. There are several Board Policies that address this issue. Board Policy 5030 - Student Wellness Policy on Physical Activity and Nutrition is one that is useful for your reference.
When you think about sending something to celebrate your child's birthday here are a few things we need to keep in mind. Treats will be passed out the last 10 minutes of the school day. Cupcakes and most cookies do not meet our Board Policies on Nutrition. Check out these policies to see what are considered nutritious treats or send a little token for example pencils, erasers ,or stickers. You can also donate a book to your child's classroom on behalf of your child's special day. Thanks for your help.
