From the Desk of Principal Swearingen
Dear Eickenroht Parents,
Maybe you cooked out with friends and family or maybe you laid around and watch college football and our Astros. Whatever it was, I hope you have enjoyed your three day weekend. As I mentioned last week, we are in full swing with instruction and learning. Students in PreK through 5th grade were given beginning of the year assessments so that we can use the information to drive individualized instruction. If your child was absent last week, make-up testing will take place this week. Please make sure they are present.
We have several events planned for the month of September. Please remind grandparents that they will be celebrated this Friday from 7 am - 8 am with a biscuits and gravy breakfast. Grandparents will have to sign in that morning. Please encourage them to come one day this week to get their name tag so they do not have to wait in line. The event has a hard stop of 8 am so that students can get in class for instruction.
Please remember all transportation changed must be made with the front office and will not be accepted through text, phone calls, or messages to the classroom teacher. Any changes need to occur before 2:45. Many parents have been walking up to get their children who are supposed to be car riders. Car riders should be picked up in cars. For your children's safety, if you forget or do not have a car rider number, you will be asked to wait outside until car rider is over.
Dismissal begins at 3:20 and is over by 3:45. At 3:45 we will bring any remaining students inside the building. Parents or guardians will have to exit their vehicle and come inside and show ID to get their child/children. If you have a question about policy or need additional information, please feel free to call the front office at 281-891-8840 or email me at sberlitz@springisd.org.
We would like to help all families make sure their children are in dress code. In order for us to do this, we need your help. If you are able and can donate new or used uniform shirts and pants to the school, it would be greatly appreciated. We have several families who need assistance. We have reached out to local businesses to see if we can find sponsors. Maybe you work for a company that would be willing to help. If so, please reach out to me or one of the school counselors so we can connect.
Lastly, we have continued to look for the perfect Assistant Principal for Eickenroht. We hope to have that individual by the end of the week. As soon as we do, I will update you and schedule a time for you to come meet the entire administrative team. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I am here to serve you and your children.
Sincerely,
Shanna Swearingen

Mrs. Farnell is starting her 12th year in education as we begin the 2024-2025 school year. She enjoys fishing with her family and can get super competitive when she plays the original Super Mario Brothers. She believes Eickenroht is a place where you join a school for an important cause and stay because you know the students need you to advocate for them. It is a place where you bring your best self everyday because little people are counting on you to show them they are more capable than they ever knew.
