Hello Epps Island Parents!!
Please allow me to say THANK YOU for joining in the fun at our Field Day. It was so heart warming to see you out there having a blast with your tigers. We appreciate the love and kindness that our community continuously shows to one another. Great memories were made!
Parents, please be advised that your 3rd - 5th grade tigers have started their SUPER fun MARVEL Superhero STAAR camp! Great things are happening! You never know when Wonder Woman is going to fly through! It is crucial that our tigers are here everyday, on time. Thank you so much for your help with this; we appreciate it!
*If any parents would like to show up with STAAR Superhero snacks, please let Mrs. Flores, our Parent Liaison know.

Coach Hannath
Tess Hanath has been a PE teacher at Epps Island for 37 years and she is retiring this year!! We are trying to make this a super special time for her!
We want to make a video of well wishes from former students, parents, and coworkers and wanted to ask you for some help. Would you be willing to send a video of fond memories or funny stories you might remember about Ms. Hanath? We don’t need a ton, but thought some former students and parents would be nice for her to see.
If you are interested in participating, here are some more specific details to help us out:
- Please record on a phone in landscape mode (sideways) and with a nice, clear background.
- Please, if possible, use a microphone or a second phone to record the speaking as a voice memo. Then send the video AND the voice recording.
- Please try to keep the messages to about 30 seconds or so.
We need any messages by April 6 so we can send them to be mashed all together.
Please send messages (videos and voice messages) or any questions/concerns to ltucker@kleinisd.net at any time.
Thank you so much for your help!!

National Drug Trends
Please join us for “Current Drug Trends: Keeping Your Child Safe” on April 3, 2025. This session will be provided by Susan Black and will focus on how parents can support their children with drug prevention. More information can be found here: “Current Drug Trends: Keeping Your Child Safe”
Growth Mindset: A "growth mindset" is a belief that one's abilities and intelligence can be developed and improved through effort, learning, and persistence. This means people with this mindset view challenges as opportunities to grow and learn, rather than obstacles that define their capabilities. It's often contrasted with a "fixed mindset" where people believe their abilities are innate and cannot be significantly changed. Students who have fixed mindsets often say things like, “I’ll never be good at math,” or “I’m going to fail anyway.” We encourage our students to have growth mindsets because we believe that through hard work and perseverance, students can improve! Encourage your child to develop a growth mindset at home and at school.
