Health and Safety Weekly Update
Week of Monday, October 5th - Friday, October 9th
Good Day South Brunswick,
PLEASE JOIN US THURSDAY EVENING AT THE BOARD MEETING AS WE WILL BE SHARING MORE SPECIFICS ABOUT RE-ENTRY.
WE DID NOT HAVE ANY POSITIVE COVID CASES LAST WEEK!!!
As we conclude Week 5 of what has become our new normal, I first want to thank all who attended our Parent Forum last week. We had over 1,300 parents join Jennifer Diszler and myself and we learned a great deal from your questions that night, as well as your follow up questions. At this point, we are awaiting the survey results that we sent to parents. As our survey numbers climb, I want to reiterate that from the information we have received thus far, we are in a position to offer some relief on the time commitment for completing the survey. For families that are uncertain if they would rather continue with remote learning or move their child to in-person learning, please tune into Thursday’s Board meeting where we plan to share all aspects of re-entry including safety measures, busing, extra-curricular activities along with the instructional model.
Information on how to join Thursday’s Board meeting will be available on the South Brunswick School District website at www.sbschools.org on the banner posted prior to the meeting.
I am happy to share that Governor Murphy has announced that indoor sports can resume at this time. We await final rules and protocols from NJSIAA so that we can begin planning for a Winter Athletic Season!
We are getting better with completing the questionnaire and temperature checks, I am happy to report. Last week we only had one student who didn’t fill out the questionnaire and one who had fever upon arrival. Therefore, I am giving us a self-reflection effectiveness rating of 3. Way to go South Brunswick.
Please know that one of the important factors that we will be sharing with all families relates to our safety protocols for in-person learning. We want all to know what to expect and what the expectations of the school are for any staff member or student who comes on school property.
Thank you and stay safe everyone!
