OH, CANADA! VANCOUVER VIBES
Twenty-one SMHS students had an unforgettable spring vacation exploring Vancouver! Surrounded by the stunning views, they immersed themselves in the natural beauty and vibrant culture of the city. The trip was fun and educational! It was an extraordinary global experience that created memories to last a lifetime! Thank you to teacher chaperones, Ms. Renee Fudala, Ms. Erin Mell-Taylor and Mr. Matt Maclean for facilitating such an amazing adventure for our students!
GRADE 8 CIVICS MCAS TESTING
GRADE 8 students will take the CIVICS MCAS test on THURSDAY, MAY 1 and FRIDAY, MAY 2. Free breakfast is served daily from 7:00 AM - 7:25 AM. Please remind your 8th grader to come with a fully charged Chromebook! Thank you!

Sandwich Middle High School is proud to celebrate our 2025 NATIONAL LATIN EXAM MEDALISTS! With over 150,000 students participating worldwide, earning a medal is a remarkable achievement. Several of our Latin scholars distinguished themselves with exceptional scores—earning Silver Medals (Maxima Cum Laude) for scoring in the top 15% and Gold Medals (Summa Cum Laude) for placing in the top 5% globally. This outstanding performance reflects both the students’ dedication and the strength of our World Language program. Optime!

National Junior Honor Society Updates Bulletin Boards!
Members of the National Junior Honor Society have been hard at work giving the 3rd floor A Wing bulletin boards a fresh new look! With creativity and teamwork, students updated the display to reflect a catchy phrase to brighten everyone’s day. Their efforts not only enhance our school environment but also demonstrate their commitment to leadership and community service. Be sure to check out the new designs next time you pass through the hallway!

EARTH DAY BEACH CLEAN-UP
Sandwich Middle High School's Project 351 students, Macy Christensen and Prisha Bajracharya, and teacher advisor, Mr. Jeff Duffany, participated in an Earth Day cleanup at Menauhant Beach in Falmouth on Monday, April 21.

Whether you're starting to think about college or finalizing your choices, this is a great chance to gather valuable information. Students interested in attending this fair should contact their school counselor.
pH Lab with a VEGGIE TWIST
Students in chemistry classes had a colorful day in the laboratory discovering the science in everyday vegetables! Exploring how red cabbage can be used as a natural pH indicator, students tested a variety of household substances and observed vibrant color changes that revealed each item's acidity or basicity.
