Classroom Highlights
Big thank you to Bob Kelly and Fox 29 for coming out and getting our students and staff ready for Folsom's episode of the ClassHRoom!
3rd Grade students visited Adventure Aquarium!
7th and 8th graders in Mrs. Smith and Miss DeRosa’s Tech Design are feeling the madness of March! They created cardboard basketball nets and evegot to work on their shots!!
PreK and Kindergarten classes enjoyed a visit from Mr. LoPollo and Mr. Garcia who work for the Folsom Municipal department. They brought along their dump truck and loader for us to explore as well as answered many questions! We are hitting the road on these units but we have learned so much!
8th grader Gabriel Slowinski participated in the Jersey Shore Science Fair at Stockton University. His project investigated which surface in your house is the dirtiest? Turns out it's the kitchen sink!
Mrs. Smith’s math classes celebrated pi Day with circle treats, student made pi videos and the 3-1-4 pi day challenge! Here’s a little glimpse…
This week we have had guest readers from Student Council and NJM visiting our classrooms. We love when our school and surrounding community comes together!
We welcomed back some of our alumni for our annual High School panel. Folsom graduates who now attend Hammonton, ACIT, CCTS, St. Joe and St. Augustine spoke about their high school experience to our 8th graders!
In 6th grade, students started learning about WWII and the Holocaust to gear up for our next round of book club. Students watched an interview of Mrs. Francesco's grandmother about her experience during the war, life in the Lodz ghetto, and her time in the different concentration camps, as well as life after the war. Students were able to ask Mrs. Francesco any questions that they had. We are ready to start reading all the different novels for our Holocaust Book Club.
The Spring Scholastic Book Fair
Animals were on the loose in 1st grade! Students held an Animal Wax Museum to celebrate the end of their informational writing unit. We had very special visitors come visit our classrooms to learn from our published nonfiction books.
Today, 8th science students completed their “reaction in a bag” lab where they investigated different chemical reactions. They logged observations of different chemical reactions like temperature changes and color changes.
