Thank you to everyone who donated to our coat drive! We are grateful for the generosity of our community. Your donations supported GCPS' students and families in need. Additionally, donations supported a project led by GHS senior, Nathanael Wilson, to collect coats for a local homeless shelter.

Students from all three of our elementary schools participated in the Girls on the Run 5K on December 11th at Bryan Park. The Girls on the Run program focuses on the connection between girls' physical and emotional health. Trained staff worked with students twice a week for ten weeks using targeted lessons and physical activity to instill confidence and compassion in each girl.

Meet Tyde, GCPS' first therapy dog. Tyde is available to support our secondary students on Wednesdays (GHS) and Fridays (GMS). Be sure to follow him on Instagram @rollwithtyde for tips, fun facts, mental health resources, events, games and much more!

The GMS school counseling team spread holiday cheer during lunches this week leading up to winter break! Each day was filled with fun, from games like the "Reindeer Ring Toss" to photo booth pictures with friends.

Looking for support with food or clothing for your family? Do you need assistance locating community and mental health resources? Goochland Schools is working with various organizations to provide our families in need with school supplies, food, clothing, and other needs. Click here for more information.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses. The training teaches necessary skills to provide initial help and support to those developing a mental health problem or experiencing a crisis.
