Holiday Wishes from CVUSD's Superintendent, Dr. Mark McLaughlin
Dear CVUSD Community:
As the end of 2023 quickly approaches, I wanted to take this time to share a message of gratitude with each and every one of you.
This is my seventh school year as the Proud Superintendent of Conejo Valley Unified School District, and I continue to be in awe of our students’ eagerness to learn and grow, our staff members’ innovation and dedication to their craft, and our supportive parents, families and volunteers whose involvement and engagement make our school district so special and successful.
The holiday season is often a time of reflection. When I look back at the last 12 months - I am most thankful for the caring and kind community that we collectively cultivate each and every day. Through hardship and successes, tribulations and awards - we support and cheer each other on, together. It is this shared community, with students at the center, as our “why,” that I am so grateful for each and every day.
Thank you for being a part of this District. I hope you have a happy and safe winter break enjoyed with families and friends.
I look forward to the great things ahead for the CVUSD in 2024!
Sincerely,
Dr. Mark McLaughlin
Superintendent, Conejo Valley Unified School District

The CVUSD recognizes the social-emotional and mental health needs of students and families. We are committed to serving our student community in these important areas. Our new Mental Health and Wellness Services web page provides you with information, resources and details on how to access mental health support. Together we can achieve mental wellness in our District and community:
Lisa Hutson implements a student-centered approach to teaching that fosters creativity, leadership, problem solving and critical thinking. She first joined the CVUSD more than 25 years ago, and currently serves as a third grade teacher at EARThS Magnet School, where she has taught for nearly a decade. She assists each student in reaching their maximum potential.
She is energetic, motivating, and positive. Her energy lights up the classroom and makes everyone around her feel excited to learn. Outside of the classroom, she positively impacts the school culture at EARThS: leading dances and chants at school assemblies, being a leader on the “Sunshine” committee, facilitating the talent show, leading an after-school hip hop class, and brightening the day of everyone she interacts with.
We and the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce are proud to honor her as our December 2023 Teacher of the Month! Click here to read more about the positive impact Ms. Hutson makes.
Families are invited to join CVUSD administrators and teachers to learn more about the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten programs in the CVUSD by attending an upcoming Information Session on Monday, January 22nd at 6pm.

Information will be shared about TK and Kindergarten curriculum, registration requirements, enrollment processes and child care opportunities available on our CVUSD campuses.
This is a FREE online event and a great opportunity for families who would like to learn more about enrolling their child in TK or Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year.
*Please note: The information presented will be the same information that was shared at the recently held, November 2, 2023 - TK & Kindergarten Virtual Information Night.
