Some of our Olga Brener classes will be participating in Fang’s Reading Club with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. It is an incentive-based reading program. Students will have the opportunity to improve his/ her reading skills while earning prizes from the Timber Rattlers!

If the student completes the program, he/she has hit a HOME RUN by reading and will be rewarded a complimentary ticket and hot dog & soda voucher.

PROGRAM DETAILS:

• The program will begin Monday, February 24 and conclude Thursday, April 17.

• The program is divided into four 2-week segments. Each segment represents a base on a baseball diamond. The goal is to hit a HOME RUN and receive a complimentary game ticket and hot dog & soda voucher!

Olga Brener Intermediate Family Date is set for Saturday, June 7 (6:40 p.m.). If families are unable to attend your family day, they can use the Reading Club Ticket for any April/May 2025 game (excluding Opening Day and weekday day games) at the same value, or they could still use it as a grass seat ticket for the remainder of the season.

This is a great fundraiser for many reasons!

• Students study questions appropriate for the grade level.

• ALL money raised goes directly back to the students! Some of the things KAT funds: field trips, the book machine, Opera for the Young, Wade Fernandez, treats and prizes for students…and so much more

• Students can earn various incentive levels based on the amount of pledges they collect.

The Importance of Head Checks

Please remember to routinely check your child for head lice. Cases of head lice often increase following school breaks when children have spent time in close contact with each other at sleepovers or other social groupings.

It is important to remember that children may have head lice without parents knowing or parents may choose to not inform the school. I would encourage you to routinely check your child’s hair for evidence of head lice as part of a weekly routine. Early detection and treatment are a key component to eliminating lice infestation. Class screenings are generally ineffective for early case finding and are not routinely or automatically done. The parent or guardian has the ultimate responsibility to ensure children are free of lice and nits.
