Still Looking for 1 Site Council Member
Since the passage of the 1993 Education Reform Act, all schools in Massachusetts must form School Councils, which include representation from parents, teachers, the community, and school administration. The purpose of the School Council is to involve parents and teachers in school decision-making. The School Council will also formulate an annual school improvement plan with the goal of strengthening the bond between our school and the Marshfield community we serve. This plan is then submitted to the Superintendent and School Committee.
We are looking for ONE parent to join our School Council this year! We encourage all parents to consider this opportunity for meaningful dialogue and active participation in our Daniel Webster School community. The meetings are generally held once each month on Tuesdays at 4:00.
Easement Walker Dismissal Change
Ensuring student safety is our top priority. Starting in January, families picking up students via the DWS easement will need to meet our staff on the DWS side of the easement. Grade 4 and 5 students may continue walk home alone with permission from families.
This change is being made because we’ve observed students running into the street and jumping into waiting vehicles, making it difficult for our staff to verify who is taking students. This adjustment will help us create a safer, more organized dismissal process for everyone.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our students safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
DWS All Star Monthly Raffle
At the end of the month, all the All-Stars get taken down from the bulletin boards and entered into a grand prize raffle! The more All-Stars you have, the better chance you have at winning! During our school-wide assembly, Mrs. Jackson pulled one winner from each grade!
Congratulations to:
Kindergarten - Nathan
Grade 1 - Nate D
Grade 2 - Stanley V
Grade 3 - Abigail Y
Grade 4 - Gemma D
Grade 5 - Trixie K
Congratulations!
