District 158 Early Childhood Center's 2024-2025 Newsletter

A message from Dr. Pauwels
As we wrap up a joyful school year, I want to thank each of you for the support and partnership you've shown. Your children have grown in so many ways—socially, emotionally, and academically—and it's been our honor to be a part of their journey.
A special wish goes out to our students heading off to kindergarten—may your next chapter be filled with wonder, growth, and new friendships! We are so proud of you and know you’ll do amazing things.
Thank you for sharing your most precious little learners with us. We hope summer brings your family lots of play, exploration, and story time. Keep reading, keep wondering, and keep being curious!
We can't wait to welcome you back in the fall, ready for more adventures in learning!
With gratitude and warm wishes,
Dr. Sheryl Pauwels

SUN Bucks Summer Meals Program
Summer EBT 2025 (SUN Bucks) is a nutrition program authorized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help combat hunger by providing financial assistance to qualifying families so they can buy food for their school-aged children over the summer. Summer EBT for 2025 will provide a $120 annual benefit per child to eligible families via an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) issued by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS).
Huntley 158 students who have participated in the free and reduced lunch program during the 2024-2025 school year automatically qualify for this benefit. The $120 benefit per child will be added to LINK cards for families who are part of the SNAP program; families who are NOT part of SNAP will receive a debit card in the mail.
IMPORTANT: If your child participates in the district’s free and reduced lunch program and your address has changed, please email studentupdate@district158.org as soon as possible and include your student’s name. For more information about Summer EBT, visit the Illinois Department for Human Services website.
